A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Waikiki. The food is excellent and the spice level is actually on par with authentic Thai (if you order it hot). Decor is marvelous with wonderful pictures sculptures and fresh flower arrangements galore. Especially enjoyable are the stuffed chicken wings, beef with basil and the "western" ribs with a Thai seasoning. less

I had the shrimp and mushrooms, and I had 5 whole little shrimp on my plate. The sauce tasted like Campbells mushroom soup. Nothing really special here, and I have been to better Thai restaurants. Keo did an amazing job in converting a dismal hotel coffee shop into a lovely restaurant with some tables open to the sidewalk. The food is always good (personal favorites include fried calamari, stuffed chicken wings, eggplant chicken). Romantic atmosphere, friendly staff. If you'd like to pay a little less for the same food, visit one of their sister restaurants (Mekong on King St. and Mekong II on Beretania St.). less

Keo's is a popular spot in the Kapahulu corridor, near Diamond Head, (just east of Waikiki). Nicely decorated with small orchids and Thai statuary, this is a wonderful place to try the various noodles and curries. You may order the curries either medium or hot, but I found they will prepare them mild on request. I enjoyed the yellow curry with seafood, (also available with chicken breast meat), with a wonderful coconut base. My companion enjoyed pad thai and raved about the ribs, which were barbecued using a dry spice rub. Sorbets are refreshing for dessert, and the various spring rolls and satay skewers may tempt us next time. A recommended drink? The exotic and cleverly named Evil Jungle Princess, (jackfruit and rum) is a good accompanyment for Evil Jungle Prince, a signature dish with green papaya. A less expensive offshoot, Bananas, is more central to the tourist area of Kuhio. less
