I am going to give JRs an extra star for the sole reason that they did away with the little cardboard trays that they were using, and have switched to real plates. Other than that, little has changed in the last three years (I guess that would be expected). Burgers are ok but pricey at $7. The clientele is mostly teenagers who would be uncomfortable at one of the other restaurants at RiverPark, not knowing that for the same money they could have a much nicer meal. For myself, a similar but cheaper burger can be found across the street at In'n'Out, and a better overall experience at Red Robin. Hooters? I will leave that for another review. less

I agree that nostalgia is the marketing angle for Johnny Rocket's, and I like that a song on the jukebox is only a nickle (bet the RIAA loves that), but I have issues with the way the food is assembled and served. There were two cooks preparing orders, one a kid with a flair for burger-flipping, the other one looked none-too-hygienic in a very very stained apron. Burgers and sandwiches are prepared on this wooden slab with a hole in it for sweeping in whatever didnt land between the two buns, and it wasnt pretty. Also, everything is served on these little tiny pressed-paper trays that are kept in tall stacks against the wall, which seemed to me to be a lovely environment for six-legged guests. The burger was ok, but with no utensils and these microscopic napkins, it was a messy business. So for $6 for a burger, $4 for fries, $4 for a shake, if it werent for a really cute waitress I would much rather have spent my $30 (for two people) across the way at Fuzios or Dai Bai Dang and had a much nicer (and healthier) dinner. less

Nostalgia is the name of this game. Old songs on the Juke box with access at every table, they even give each patron the first nickle to play on it. I suggest you sit at the bar so you can watch the the choreography of the burger. If you just want ... more

Nostalgia is the name of this game. Old songs on the Juke box with access at every table, they even give each patron the first nickle to play on it. I suggest you sit at the bar so you can watch the the choreography of the burger. If you just want to sit and enjoy the 50's atmosphere or you want to catch the movie that's about to start next door, this place is perfect. Maybe the best burger I've ever had. less
