Home Town Buffet certainly has a good economic model - charge children $6.99 to eat a couple of spoonfuls of macaroni and cheese and a dish of jello, and feed the adults a selection of minimal-effort entrees. The offerings here in no way compensate for being herded, jostled, sneezed on, and generally irritated by screaming childred flying around at top speed while their parents ladle up onto a plate mounds of food that will never get eaten. If this sounds like a review of one negative experience, it is not: I have had the misfortune of eating here twice. I completely agree with the other reviewers in that the Golden Corral is far superior in quality and atmosphere, and that Home Town could learn valuable things from other similar restaurants where buffet-style is different from slop-and-run. less

While this is a nice buffet restaurant that is comfortable and family-friendly, if you ever try Golden Coral in Clovis you will like it much better. They are both priced about the same, but my family thinks the food at the Golden Coral is better. However, when traveling out of town, finding a Home Town Buffet is always welcome. They do have good food and you are sure to get plenty to eat. less
