Open just under a year, Heavy's ain't the easiest place to find, although it's not far from I-5. Near the NE corner of Colby and 41st St., it's just off the street, so look for the sign on Colby. But, make the effort because it will be worth it. It's located in a cute little building, with a few tables inside and a small eating area outside, for when the weather gets warm. Most of the customers appear to be coming in for take-out, but if you do eat there, it's a nice quiet place to just eat and read. The folks there are genuinely friendly and seem eager to please. Now for the best part...the food. The best items are the BBQ pork or chicken sandwiches, both are huge, very tender, and you will need two hands to eat them. They also offer a lunch special smaller (read normal) sized sandwich, which is a good idea if you want to try dessert or one of the several side dishes offered. I recommend the baked beans, which have just the right hint of molasses in them, and are served hot and fresh. If you aren't sure what to try, you might ask them for a sample, something they were doing when the first opened. The dessert section is small (peach cobbler).
