A typical Capitol Hill dive. This is not for the average tourist or even the average diner. This restaurant belongs to politicos. Its where they unwind, toss a couple back and broaden their network. The food is not bad. If you go there, try the burgers. But realize that this is not a family establishment, and keep the kids' ears covered. You will definately see some people blowing off steam. less

If I were to rate this establishment on the basis of it's food alone, it would merit 4.5, unfortunately, the atmosphere is oppressive--at least to my tastes. If you like loud, rowdy, crowded and inebriated, than this is the place for you. When I'm in the area, I try to call ahead and take-out my food and find a quieter locale (like on the steps of the Supreme Court or National Library which are nearby). As for the food, everything I've had there has been good, whether it be their sandwiches, entrees, or daily specials. My personal recommendation would be to order their catch of the day. less
