The atmosphere was very warm inside the restaurant. They also have a very nice patio area outside. We started off with an order of the Potato Pancakes appetizer; they came out very hot with applesauce and sour cream. I ordered the Paprika Schnitzel and my companion ordered the Schweizel Schnitzel. Both dishes were very generous portions and the breading and the sauce were very good. We also had a side order of the Spaetzle which was decent. The server was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu and made som good recommendations. We finished up with a slice of the Chocolate Saurkraut cake which was very large and very rich. Overall nice job. I would definitely go to Haus Murphy's again. less

A wonderful find in Glendale is Haus Murphy's. With the purchase of the bar from "Murphy's Romance, " the restaurant gained its name. <br> Murphy's offers some of the best German sausages available in the Valley and serve it with German beer or wine ordered special for their patrons. The dishes complement a great day of antique shopping. The outdoor patio is not visible from the front enterance, but is my favorite place to eat on a not-too-hot day. <br> My choice: The sausage sampler platter and a German Draft. <br> The also have exceptional desserts, displayed in the pie case near the kitchen. And if you like a German wine offered, they will sell them take-away for a better price. less

This cozy little bistro, nestled amongst Glendale's rather forced "antique boutique" shopping district, offers unique alternatives to my usual lunchtime fare, and so becomes a destination when I'm in the neighborhood. Architecturally anchored by an antique bar, crowded with a handful of tables in the main dining area, and supplemented by a few tables outdoors on the sidewalk (variously noisy and busy, sometimes sublimely nice to be outdoors) and some "back room" seating I have not visited, this incongruously named place offers, to my inexperienced and uneducated palate, excellent German dishes, among them my favorite various "schnitzels, " accompanied by savory soups, piquant potatoe salad, slices of dark rye and pumpernickle bread with herbed butter, and unusual uses of spices such as paprika, known to me chiefly as a garnish, but dramatic as a spice for cutlets... Attentive service, great selection of beers and wines... There's little reason to visit downtown Glendale unless you have business with city government or are interested in antiques, but here's a third worthwhile destination. less

Located in the antiques district of Downtown Glendale, The atmosphere is cozy and cluttered. I had the honor of being served by a lovely young lady in traditional german dress who was helping out on the weekend. There was live accordian music playing and the food was great. The apple strudel finished off the meal perfectly and the service was attentive despite a very crowded dining room (reservations recommended during the dinner hour). The price is reasonable for the quality and locale. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes or loves traditional German cuisine, a geat place to bring a date or loved one. less

They can learn so many things and enjoy learning while eating. If left up the my girls we would have stayed there for several days. We did enjoy all the food and the staff answered all their questions. I enjoyed the food and making friendls with some of the other people eating there. less
