I've been going here for over 10 years now. While their food is good, for the first timer, service is scary... especially this one lady, even til today, she hasn't changed... I would highly recommend non traditional American dishes - baby bokchoy with garlic, egg plant with pork in hot pot, etc. Their dim sum is excellent, go on the weekends and you'll truly experience the real authentic dim sum service (the best in A2, otherwise go to Hong Kong, Bay Area or China!) less

This is the best Chinese restaurant I have been to since I moved to Michigan 2 years ago. This place reminded me of being back in San Diego (Convoy) or a couple of places in San Fran. The food was good with typical Chinese restaurant service. The portions were generous with reasonable prices. I would like to come back with a couple of my Chinese friends to get to the Chinese menu and have more authentic dishes. I will be back on Sunday when they serve Dim Sum. less

Picking a Chinese Restaurant can be a difficult thing to do, especially when you haven't been to one and you always go to the same restaurant becauase your unsure of the other ones. Well, Great Lakes is one of my top 5 restaurants. I take lot of people there. They know me, they know what to bring when I come (pitcher of water and hot chili oil sauce) in addition to others. I love their food. Their food is best of the best. The service is great - that is when it's not busy - but this place is always busy - especially during lunch and dinner. Best of during Lunch and sunday lunch, they have dim-sun(sp?), which to my standards is excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and if you haven't been there, go there!! less
