My husband travels to Monterey frequently for business and we have had occasion to dine at most of the 'plethora' of eating establishments there as well as Pacific Grove. However, when we entertain special clients, Fresh Cream is the only place we would consider taking them. We find the cuisine to be consistently superb and the servers are well informed and non-intrusive. The presentations are colorful and very pleasing to the eye; and the aromas emanating from every dish are the type true gourmands dream of. Case in point - the aforementioned Veal (served in puff pastry with sherry-cream mushroom sauce). In addition, we love the little 'extras' that are brought to our table during the meal. less

Well, it looks like the Fresh Cream is not what it used to be. A recent dinner turned out to be less than spetacular. The lobster raviolis were almost as tasteless as the salad that accompanied the dinner. The lamb was average - I have made better at home. The desert is the only thing that stood out. Dinner for two with two glasses of wine was $178 -- just too high for the quality of the meal. less

Excellent restaurant. Service was attentive and brisk and the setting charming. I recommend you request a window table, as the view is magnificent. Get good directions to the Restaurant as it is located in a rather "tucked away" spot. The food was very good and inventive, my friend and I tried different food for each course and each was top notch. The restaurant has a good wine list and is a must visit (along with the sardine factory) when visiting Monterey. less

My Spouse and I spent Valentine's Day here and the food was outstanding. The appetizer Lobster Raviolio's was very good. Our salads were fresh and crisp and the dressing was good. My spouse had Filet which was cooked perfect and I had Veal which had an excellent sauce. For dessert we shared a Creme Brulee which was very good also. They have a great wine list and we chose a 1993 Caymus Cab. Sav. which was excellent. Our service was outstanding in the beginning but slowed down a bit toward the end. Perhaps it was because they waitstaff was very busy and tired as the evening went on. less

I first visited Fresh Cream about 6 years ago. It is my absolute favorite restaurant. It is worth a trip from San Jose just to have dinner. While the food is incredible and the setting elegant, it's acceptable to go in decent casual attire, which is nice if you are spending the day at the coast. If you love rack of lamb or duck, try your favorite here. My very favorite dish is the lobster ravioli, which has a delicate sauce absolutely to die for. It is an appetizer but last time we visited I was told I could have a larger portion as an entree. Entrees come with salad. Wine list is excellent. Servers are all helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Perfect birthday or anniversary spot. Salud! less
