2nd visit. Last year we had an okay meal and I submitted relatively positive reviews to SFsurvey.com & Dine.com. I'm gonn'a update those reviews so I wont mislead anyone. The bottom has fallen out of the game for this place. Dinner tonight for five of us was disappointing. BambieKat HATED her $24 sea bass special. Dredged in pulverized rosemary powder & oven baked it was AWFUL! After she complained, (something she never does), the manager did remove the travesty from the bill. My Margharita pizza was merely mediocre. Chewy thin crust with no merit, thick acid tomato paste sauce. The cheese was gooey, no-flavor ooze. Polly-O brand mozzarella would be an improvement. Hey, Where's the fresh basil??? Margharita means fresh basil leaves on the pizza. It's the middle of July there's fresh basil for sale everywhere! Our east coast guests tried to be polite about their crappy meals, too. It was an exercise of wasted calories and an embarrassment for us Marin hosts trying to show off our local scene. It was $280 for 5 people to eat badly. Screw it! We're not coming back, ever! less

Upscale dining located next to a downscale hotel. Tuscan style cuisine. Nice dining room. Good tableware, crisp linens. Service is professional. Olive oil is the theme but it is not overplayed in the dishes. Meat dishes are clean tasting, preapred well, pleasing to the eye, nose and mouth. Wines from Italy are priced on the high side. Meal with wine is going to run at least $50 per person. I thought it was a little overpriced at first, but upon reflection on the quality of the food and service, I had to admit that the price was warranted. I've paid more for meals that were much less satisfying. less

Don't let the Holiday Inn Express fool you when you go to Frantoio - its a solid choice for good tuscan food - maybe a bit pricey. Since its a little long in the tooth its pretty easy to walk in - which makes it a fine back up for the Buckeye ... more

Sent down the road to this restaurant by the Buckeye Roadhouse parking guys who suggested it as an alternative to waiting over an hour for a table at the Buckeye. Good recommendation guys! My dining partner and I greatly enjoyed this restaurant and the wait for a table was only fifteen minutes or so. I had a risotto dish which was great (of course, I was starving which probably helped). Desserts were very good and so was the coffee they served. Never even knew about this place before being directed here by the Buckeye parking guys but glad they clued me in. less
