No mere soda fountain could possibly measure up to the magic of Farrell's. Streams of sticky caramel, rivers of hot fudge and mounds of whipped cream seem to cover everything on the menu -- at least all the good stuff on the menu. Sure, they serve burgers, salads, hotdogs and sandwiches, by why go to Farrell's for real food when ice cream is what they're famous for? The parlor has a list of over a dozen sundaes to choose from, and that's in addition to a boatload of splits, shakes, sodas, floats and malts. An old-fashioned candy counter and player piano add to the atmosphere, and children's birthday parties are always a hit (as well as specially priced). Many of the southland Farrell's have disappeared over the years, so don't miss your chance to create sweet memories with your kids less

Family oriented Farrel's is the Greatest Show on Earth when it comes to presentation. The San Diego Zoo special is a large (very very large) bowl of icecream carried on a litter by two employees. As Sirens blare and the drum is beat, the icecream travels in a display of showmanship around the restraunt for all to see before it arrives at the designated table.
Fun and good times are to be had here and an experience like no other.
