We visited El Rancho on Dec.12, 2009. Although the restaurant was nice, there was not much else to be impressed with. The waitress acted like she would rather not be bothered and none too friendly. The meat in the Chile Colorado was tough and chewy--like it was a cheap cut of meat. The chips were a little on the overdone side. We are not picky people but this was not that good. Don't believe we will be returning as the real kicker in the whole thing is when we got our visa bill we were charged 3 dollars more than our bill. We had tipped a couple dollars because our waitress was not worth it but somehow she managed to get 5 out of the deal and it won't happen again. less

This place was recommended to me and I would recommend that you would try this place. By far one of the best mexican style restaurants in cedar rapids. A real fun place to get together and enjoy a meal. less

Relatively new family owned and operated Mexican restaraunt with above average quality and large portions. Properly spiced and cooked this restaraunt has become one of our favorites. The business is new and building on itself so the building decor is not the best. However, the owners are making improvements and the results are attractive. less
