Big Disappointment <br> The wait staff was inattentive and spread thin (two for the whole restaurant) even though it was only about half full (bad sign on Valentine’s Day?). The menu was way overpriced and the quality of food is just plain average. Each plate was $38.00 and we did not order drinks. The price wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the poor service, average food quality, and uninspired menu selections (choice of tiramisu and strawberries with whipped cream for dessert?!). The waiter took forever to take our order. We would not see or speak to him again for another hour and fifteen minutes. We were not asked once if we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything. We had to ask the bus boys (who outnumbered the waiters by at least 2 to 1) to get our water refilled. After our waiter had disappeared for some time, he finally brought us our check and disappeared again. He then re-appeared to give other tables their checks and cashed them out before getting back to us! The whole time from when we got the check to when we left the restaurant was about 45 minutes. Unacceptable! If we had theater tickets or a show to go to, we would have walked out without paying. When the coat-check girl gives the best service in the house that should tell you right there how good the overall service was. I don’t know if they had a bad night or what, but most of the staff looked like they would rather be elsewhere. <br> Our entire meal lasted a sluggish 2 ½ hours. The “performance” by the wait-staff was a reflection on the management quality of the restaurant. Not a good sign. While I see others may have had positive experiences here, we observed a table next to us also complaining about the lack of service from the same waiter. We will not return or recommend Domenico’s to anyone we know. There is a long list of better, more reliable, more reasonably priced Italian restaurants throughout the city. less
