My last casual dinning experience at a sit down restaurant with a bar was at the Delaney House in Connecticut. It was fairly priced, I paid around $45 a person and the food was exquisitely presented, cooked to perfection. All the ingredients were fresh and there was a perfect balance between them, none overshadowing the flavor of the others. The portions were large enough to satisfy a regular adult person. The service was average. I really liked that the waiter brought a plate with all the cuts of meat available that day but the service was slow and the waiter was inconvenient several times, interrupting the conversation with annoying questions and comments that added nothing to the dining experience, while not approaching the table when we were clearly looking for him. I was also disappointed that he did not bring the dessert cart to the table. In spite of that, the experience was pleasant, the food was excellent, and I would go back there. less

Featuring several function rooms, Delany House is one of the finest banquet houses & restaurants in Western Massachusetts. Luxurious surroundings, first-class service and food always "right on" is found here. Reservations are recommended, but you can walk-in if you don't mind waiting for a while in the piano lounge. Of particular interest are the private dining rooms available for groups (10 or more) which provide a home like feel in a private setting where conversation can take place in confidence. Average tab per person runs around $40.00 with drinks and dessert, Entries average around $18.00. The dessert cart is one you won't let pass-by. Something for everyone. I really think of Delany House as one of the finest facilities I've frequented. less
