A tale of Two Angry Sisters in Traffic Court in front of Judge Judy! In the world of New Orleans cocktails, you can have a nice martini at the Carousel Bar, or you can swill beer from a plastic cup. When it comes to food, Two Sisters is the plastic cup. Wandering by while looking at menus, my wife and I recently stumbled across the sisters and were intrigued by the menu. Especially the Veal Oscar, Tableside Cesar and Banana’s foster (one of my favorites!) so we made a reservation. That evening we arrived, expecting to have wonderful service and a great meal (if the front dining room was any indication). My bad for not insisting to sit up front, instead we were taken to a table in the back of the side patio (it was too cold to sit outside in the main patio) and apparently this served as their main seating. The front was empty sans one table and everyone was in the side patios, so we took our place and the atmosphere was not horrible. Directly behind us in the back of the patio were two 10 tops, one just leaving (more on that later). Our server, Teddy, made an attempt to tell us about the menu’s specials and soup of the day, however he did not know them and had to stop halfway and ask his buddy in the next section. I inquired if he was new, he stated no, but could never remember the soup. We ordered a bottle of wine, gumbo, tableside Cesar salad, the veal and a beef tenderloin entrée and the Banana’s Foster. When the wine came, Teddy did not have a wine opener – presented the bottle, then realized this and disappeared for 5 minutes. Finally returning to borrow one from Michael, the guy in the next section. He then peeled the foil, set the bottle down and went and got Michael again to open it. – Apparently he had recently hurt his hand and found opening wine difficult. Once Michael handed him the open bottle back, he poured me a taste, set the bottle on the table and left. (I then poured the wine for my wife). To make a long story short – it just went downhill from there. During the entire meal (less than a foot away) we sat next to a tray of dirty dishes and half eaten meals from the 10 top. The table side Cesar had no option to make it spicy as the ingredients were premeasured and tossed with indifference. (Sorry only one anchovy per table!) The Banana’s tossed briefly in a warm pan where the brown sugar was not melted then dumped into bowls, after the obligatory flame – (there was no cooking here, just combining from their pre-measured dishes into bowls with no style or effort to please. The hollandaise on the veal was cold and like Cheese Wiz – Like I said – swilling beer from plastic cups. It defiantly appears the sisters are about volume and not quality. Apparently, they have no training program for their staff. We watched Michael set a table next to us. As he positioned the silverware on the table grabbing the utensils’ by the tops we winced and thought even Waffle house doesn’t do that…If you want a NICE meal, stick with Commanders Palace or Delmonico. Ultimately we did get what we ordered, but couldn’t help but feel we were in the Wal-Mart of fine dining. No Manager ever checked with us to see how the meal was. Truthfully there was nothing really to ‘complain’ about as we did get what we ordered, timely. But on a 5 scale I would give service a 2 atmosphere a 2 and food a 2. For those that strive to be average – the Sisters hit the nail on the head. They are the ones who are still unmarried and living with each other, in their parent’s house. You would not introduce them to a single friend. less

By the way, I can think of only one thing better than their crepes with praline sauce (but you have to take a shower afterwards for that). less

I can't say how the seafood was but excellent steak! less
