Fine dining in Boise. A relaxed atmosphere, with a huge fireplace. The restaurant overlooks the Boise River and there is a patio where, weather permitting, one can dine "on the river". Exquisite interior design that takes one into the ambiance of a fine resort. Your entree is presented with skill and character. The plates are designed for your visual pleasure. Your selection is placed at your seat with care and definition. Food quality is excellant and well prepared. Items are prepared with the freshest of ingredients. "... By taking a unique "from scratch" approach to cooking, and by using the freshest, highest quality ingredients available, we offer much more to our guests ... This philosophy of quality procurement is employed in everything we serve." The service personel are friendly and helpful. They treat you like you are at home. They are not overbearing. The cost is in the mid range. A typical entree like salmon wrapped in a potato crust (Salmon in a Cage), is $17.95. Entrees range from $13.95 (Beef Stroganov) to $26.95 (Prime Rib or Filet Mignon). The range of entrees includes veal, pork, lamb, poultry, pastas and fresh fish. This is the second time we have been here - the first time was not worth writing about. But things improve, or they close. And the Cottonwood Grille has definitely improved. This is a place to take out-of-town guests or to take that "special someone" for an impressive dinner. less
