After reading the reviews and hearing from people just how good Coerpers was I finally got around to going. First thing you are greeted with when you come in the door is SMOKE. The fact that they allow smoking doesn't bother me it was the fact the the whole restaurant just seemed smokey. I looked around for one of those large smoke filters but saw none. The decor was something straight out of the 70's and clearly had not been updated since either. Lights hanging from the ceiling were covered in the light brown of years of smoke. Service is different as you sit down at the bar first and order which is the smokiest part of the restaurant. After ordering our salad came quick along with a relish tray, hot french bread, butter, honey and a HUGE pepper mill. Staff was dressed in your standard steakhouse attire and service was otherwise good. The steaks were great, I got the Porterhouse and my wife got the Petite Fillet both were cooked perfect and very flavorful. So why the lower rating? The overall experience was a real let down as after paying close to $100 for dinner I just felt like I didn't get my money's worth. For that kind of money I expect a great atmosphere with my great food instead you get the feeling that only the food matters. If drinks with your guy friends is the goal this might be the place to go but I would recommend somewhere else for a date night. less
