Chick & Ruth's is not for the shy or faint of heart. It was absolutely PACKED yesterday so we ordered sandwiches to go. The aisle is so tiny but the wait staff are adept at circumnavigating the customers. I was overwhelmed at all the photos decorating the walls & will look forward to returning on a day that is not so hectic. The owner was teasing a dating couple sitting at the counter but it was all in good fun. By the way, the sandwiches were excellent, if pricey. We tried the crabcake sandwich & a "collosal" turkey sandwich, which was HUGE. It's definitely worth a visit! less

I've eaten at restaurants all over the world and our country. I love Chick and Ruth's. When I visit my brother in Stephensville, Maryland, we always go to Chick and Ruth's for breakfast. We are always in time to say the Pledge of Allegiance led by Ted Levitt, the owner. His personality makes dining at his place even better. The service is great, the food is great, and the atmosphere is so 'family.' His mom and dad, who have gone to be with the Lord, would be very proud of their son. My brother and I are honored to know him and his great staff. less

We are always in time to say the Pledge of Allegiance led by Ted Levitt, the owner. His personality makes dining at his place even better. An Annapolis Institution! An absolute MUST VISIT! The menu is HUGE and th selection endless, but the reason to come is certainly not just the food! "Regulars" can be seen every morning (including former Maryland Governor Mandel) talking it up with the owner (Ted) and whoever else is around. Every sandwich, omlet, or salad with a name is named for someone who has actually visited the delly multiple times (with the exception of the president and vice pres. of the US). Pictures are everywhere and show just how many people have enjoyed the restaurant over the years! Newspaper articles are written pretty much weekly on Chick and Ruth's! If you are anti-social, this may not be the place to go, unless you are willing to change that! It is very crowded all the time and the owner will come to everyone to talk about whatever is going on at the time and amuse the family with magic tricks. Come with a group for the best tricks! Be sure not to miss the Plege to the flag said Every morning. It has been aired on Good Morning America and the Today Show, just to name a few! less

Again, an honor to be the first to review this Main Street landmark for so many years. This B&B is known and loved by so many Annapolitans and could be considered the "Carnegie Deli of Annapolis"--it represents the best spirit of the city.
A fair size list of sanwiches named after local and national politicians are on the wall and menu, along with ice cream and breakfast offerings.
The story behind the place is best learned at the place, and if you're lucky, Chick's son will be at hand to entertain you and the kids with magic.
With pictures galore on the wall, this is one place not to miss if you've never been. Just try not to look like a tourist. less
