My wife and I enjoyed a late lunch at this family oriented restaurant, which is claimed to be birth place of Pepsi-cola. The food was both freshly prepared and well presented in a unpretentious environment. Typical of small retaurants, the staff were attentive and very friendly in a delightful southern manner. For those who like to steer away from franchise food while touring in this area this The Chelsea restaurant is a good choice. Closed Sunday. less

Excellent, excellent. I went there while visiting my aunt and uncle in New Bern. This restuarnat fits all eating preferenced. I couldn't believe how many nice vegetarian meals they had. I ordered a vegetable wrap and it was scrumptious. I had never tasted anything like it. It was a flavored tortilla wraped with tomatoes, mushrooms, and other veggies and it had a very unique flavor. It was around $6.00 and was very filling. It came with a large order or french fries. I would highly recommend this place. less
