I guess I'm not as impresses with Cantler's as everyone else. The crabs were cooked great, but the seasoning is put on dry after they're cooked - not my style. I prefer my seasoning on the crabs while they steam. If I'm wrong, and Cantler's does season while steaming, I had some uncharacteristic crabs during my visit, I guess. Another thing - we got there very early on a Saturday, around 2 PM and had to wait an hour for a seat inside. When we left, it looked like some folks would be waiting half the evening. That's not for me - I had a hard time waiting an hour as it was, but I wanted to try Cantler's as I hadn't been there before. To sum up - crabs steamed dry, not to my taste. Extremely long waits, not to my taste either, no matter how good or how much of a landmark the place is supposed to be. We won't go back, we'll leave the waiting and unseasoned crabs to the thousands of locals who don't mind that sort of thing. less

We have being going to Cantlers for a long time. It is a casual place on the water with excellant Maryland seafood. Great crab cakes, crab dip and cream of crab soup. And try the Mannooes Clams served with Old Bay type seasoning and melted butter ... more
