California Chicken Cafe offers a wide selection of delicious wraps (food rolled up in pita bread and served with your choice of side orders), great salads (my favorite is their Chinese Chicken Pasta Salad), rotisserie chicken, and great side dishes. Most meals, which are more than enough for even your big eaters, hover right around six to seven dollars. More than affordable. They don't mind if you make some substitutions in your orders, and they have a decent selection of fat-free and vegetarian items. It is not a large location, and parking is scarce, but they do take phone orders for pick-up and orders are ready when they tell you they will be. less

I've got to agree with the Koo Koo Roo comparison. Filling out a number of these reviews, I've realized that I eat a lot of chicken, so I must be an expert: therefore, you can't find a better place for cheap rotisserie chicken or "wraps" involving chicken (since World Wrapps down the street closed) than this. The best place in Los Angeles for any kind of chicken doesn't seem to be on this site, so here's their plug: Roscoe's Chicken N Waffles. There is plenty of street parking, but the lot itself is small (as a previous review said). Be warned about the temptation to park illegally (in the handicapped spot or in the alley behind the mini strip mall) while running inside for a pick-up (that's what this place is really for)--there is ALWAYS a police officer or two leaving, eating at, or arriving at the California Chicken Cafe. I don't know why, but I swear it's true. less

California Chicken Cafe is a great example of a chain restaurant that stayed small enough to maintain its quality. They have just enough locations around LA that you can usually find one close enough to stop in when a craving hits, yet not too many that they give Starbucks a run for their money. As for their food, it all starts with a nicely seasoned and rotisserie grilled chicken. Everything on their menu launches from this, and that's why its so good. Their Combo Wrap is my favorite, thought the Chinese Wrap is nice every now and then. I also love their side dishes. The cold chicken penne pasta is so good because they cook the pasta al dente. I also like the vegetarian broccoli pasta side. If you love salads, they make huge ones. For my money, this chain kicks the ass of Koo Koo Roo and other chicken chains. less
