I believe the quality of Calhoun's food has deteriorated some over the last few years. I'm the dad of three and the granddad of eight and we usually gather at Calhouns at the Lenoir City Marina. My basic complaint isn't about the food. We have run into this situation several times. The tip can be included in the price or sometimes not for the same group of eight or more. The last time we got together the tab was $153 and we had been told on the phone that the tip would be included in the bill. I knew the price didn't appear that it was so I asked the server. She responded with something like, "Well...It's Kinda' Left Up To The Individual Server Which Way It's Done" I'm a black and white guy when it comes to financial matters and something like that pi$$es me off. I also despise the posting of suggested amounts for tips. All we're doing is helping the owner with his Mercedes and Sea Ray purchases anyway. Sincerely, Stanley J. Finch P.S. I've eaten here on several occassions (I think it was at this address...I didn't know there were two Calhoun's on Kingston Pike..the other is at 10020 Kingston Pike with a tele # of 865-673-3444)and I find the food to be exceptional...I guess I just like a dry rub based rib (not unlike Memphis ribs I've had in the past). Additionally, they have a wonderful hot sauce that they serve (and sell if you are so inclined to buy). I love the decor...I would characterize it as early farm revival (with lots of farm implements on the walls and ceilings). less

The worst ribs I have ever had. They are supposed to be the best. I have had their ribs three times thinking it must be fluke, but no, they are the worst. Very dry almost no meat or sauce. The rest of the menu is good. So if you are thin ... more

The rest of the menu is good. So if you are thinking ribs in Knoxville stay away from all Calhouns restraunt locations. less
