This is truly one of the most unique restaurants in Tucson. Don't go if you're looking for "typical" mexican food, because typical it isn't! The food is outstanding and cooked daily. I've eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The meat is always tender. The owner is always seen about the restaurant and very cordial. All the waitstaff knows the menu, don't be afraid to ask them to repeat. less

We stayed at the Clarion on a trip to the Ft Lowell Soccer Shootout. Tired, the four of us (2 adults/2 children) decided to eat at the Cafe Poca Cosa because it is adjacent to the Clarion. Upon arrival the place was packed. Luckily, there was a table tucked away in a corner of the establishment. We were promptly seated, then offered drinks. We were waiting for a menu. We soon found that they don't have menus, rather small chalkboards with the daily selections written on. Our waiter arrived with chips and "salsa", and explained the entrées for the evening. We didn't have a clue what to order, so we all were brave and guessed. We were shocked at the prices, especially since we had two children with us. No children portions were offered by our waiter, and we didn't think to ask if they had child portions. It is expensive to say the least, but the amount of food, atmosphere, waiter attention, and uniqueness of the food makes up for what it cost. The salad was odd, but good. The entrées were delicious. The establishment is clean and friendly. It was a dining experience that we all enjoyed! less

The atmosphere is semi-casual, funky and colorful. Great place to bring a date for something different and creative.
I recommend the "Plato Poca Cosa." It's the chef's choice of any of 3 entree items from her menu and is, essentially, a surprise. You may request "no seafood, " "no beef, " etc. less
