How lucky was I to move to an area with such a fantastic Cuban restaurant right down the street!? As others have said and will say, Cafe 28 has improved greatly now that it has expanded to the building next door. I frequently pick up the Cuban sandwich to go - the best I've had outside of Miami. Don't forget about their great brunches, too. less

Someone I know says this restaurant is a special place that compares to a discovery that only happens when travelling and eating in Europe. Cafe 28 is highly recommended!!! Enjoy! The earlier you get to Cafe 28 the better, because it's always busy. The decor is very warm and relaxing, and the service is very good (e.g. - when our waiter forgot our appetizer, he gave us a free dessert). The food is a Cuban & Mexican mix. ... more

The earlier you get to Cafe 28 the better, because it's always busy. The decor is very warm and relaxing, and the service is very good (e.g. - when our waiter forgot our appetizer, he gave us a free dessert). The food is a Cuban & Mexican mix. The Ropa Viejas, beef stewed in a tomato garlic sauce until the meat falls off the bone, was amazing, as was the Cuban Pork & the Catalina Chicken. Be sure to get a carafe of sangria with your order: it's $21, but well worth it! Note that dish range is more in the $10-20 range, but mostly under $15. less
