Asian buffets are usually all the same. Tons of food for relatively cheap, but somewhere along the way the tastiness gets lost. Buffet Palace is no exception. It is a nice restaurant and clean, unlike some asian buffets, so there is your plus, but that is about the only one. The food is mediocre. In addition, they have the worst commercial in the Austin area. That in and of itself decucts a point. less

For a quick lunch with a lot to choose from, they do just fine. Don't expect fantastic fare... it's a buffet! It is a very large buffet, though, and there isn't anything wrong with any of the food. If you're in the area and you like Chinese buf ... more

For a quick lunch with a lot to choose from, they do just fine. Don't expect fantastic fare... it's a buffet! It is a very large buffet, though, and there isn't anything wrong with any of the food. If you're in the area and you like Chinese buffet, you really can't do much better. A couple of different regions of China, the occasional nod toward a Viatnamese dish, and a nice selection of Japanese appetizers are sufficiently complimented by salads and VERY cheap dessert items (ice cream machine, jello). Ditto on the above review. I felt cheated when I got the $25 bill for two. Kind of annoying that you tip a waiter just to bring you water when you've gotten all your food. If I can do that, I can certainly get my own drink as well. Also, a tip ... more
