At Markey's, you eat inside or out on the covered deck over the water. The food is about the same at both places, but the atmosphere is much more pleasant at Markey's. less

Horrible experience. Even with patience of a saint & chatting-up others in long line for over an hour on a Tues., food cold, staff inept & too young to care or know how to add, overcharged with no resolve, food packed to go ended up covered with too thin slaw sauce. Horrible bun & lettuce, that which was salvaged. I could have cried after the $ & time wasted. Watched my kid's food sit 20 mins. before anyone bothered to connect it with the rest of the order. Wrote owner, never got a reply. Will try Markey's across the street next time. STAY AWAY!!! But if you do go, bring bug spray (no-see-ums will eat you alive) and be careful not to drive off the edge of the pavement into the marsh as parking is horrendous. I live local and there are plenty better places to get seafood, in less time & better atmosphere. less

Brown's does not believe in snob appeal. If you like seafood the way mom would serve it, go to Brown's. My wife likes lobster. She has never even tried anything else on the menu. Fortunately for me, I like clam, oyster, shrimp and scallop and so does my son. I would have missed out. I still think the lobster is unbeatable! In summer, bring a really cold beer along and in winter, a chilled white wine make the meal an event. less

Two nights ago I and my daughter and son in law stopped at Brown's for dinner. We ordered each a clam chowder, and two clam/scallop dinners andd one clam dinner. All of this meal was cold when we got it. I will not return there again. I feel for the amount that it cost us to dine in your establishment, we should have been served our chowders immediately while they were hot, so we could have been eating them while waiting for the entree. When that was also served cold at such a fast paced restaurant, I can't imagine any excuse except that someone wasn't doing their job, or there wasn't enough help. The senior Bush and the First lady have also made it a stop on their way to Kennebunkport. But remember the atmosphere is so casual you should not forget to bring your own cooler full of your favorite beverages, thats right BYOB. less

This is a great restaurant specializing in boiled lobster to perfection. They always have different sizes here to please the palate. They also offer salads, potato salads, cole slaw, potato chips, lobster rolls and chowders. You can come here off the beach and no one dresses up here. You can eat all you want here and it is picnic table styling. This restaurant is great if you want lobster or even just a chowder and a lobster roll. they have one other offering and that is steamers; that is steamed clams cooked to perfection and they will serve the broth if you ask. There is also bread here to go along with your meal if you want it and if you ask. There is strawberry shortcake here with homemade buscuits as well as other offerings at other times. We love to go to Brown's to eat lobster and talk. less
