This is the holy grail of Mongolian BBQ restaurants. BACKGROUND: As a retired member of our United States Air Force and trying to stay under my maximum weight during my active years, this restaurant did not help. SERVICE: Outstanding service, wonderful selection of meats (chicken, lamb, pork, beef), veggies and the ever illusive NOODLES (some places don't have them). MAIN: Clean, tasty and you can pile your plate as high as you like even though it's all you can eat so you don't really have to!! PILING YOUR PLATE HIGH: From a Xerox Guru, I learned the art of stacking your BOWL. Try and beat my record. Place zucchinis around the edge of your blow to flair out the bowl and then add your meat, PRESSING THE MEAT DOWN DEEP INTO THE BOWL, THEN ADD sauces, then your veggies, and finally pack in your noodles. Watch the cooks admire your work! TIP the COOKS: Remember to tip the cooks a buck or two and amazingly they will always acknowledge you, even when their backs are turned (how, I don't know). SAUCES: Use a ton of raw garlic, onions, and add your oils, lots of dragon sauce and hot peppers. COOKING: Ask for well done if you like (I do) and then you have a browned meal. THE BISCUIT: Sort of like a pita bread. Stuff your Mongolian into this biscuit and make a Mongolian Burrito!! LEFTOVERS: Frowned upon but for another 6.00 bucks or so, get a take away... (as I always did) (Mongolian tastes better the next day as the juices sink in). CROWD: Lots of the Top-Gun types (USAF) from Los Angeles AFB in their BDU's (cammys), plus the regular tie wearing Corporate crowd at Lunch (Defense contractors, Xerox, etc....). Plus look for the guy who eats there every day during the week at the back table by the kitchen. Been eating their daily since Christ was a corporal. However, surprisingly, not too many Victoria Secret models eat here but HELL, who could look like them and eat this food. Just go in your sweats or your spandex and enjoy yourself!!!!!!!! Finally, the Big Wok is better than sex and cheaper!! Unfortunately, since I'm now abroad, I don't have access to Big Wok, but counting the days until I can come back to California and the Big Wok. Thank you to the Big Wok for over 7 years of pleasure. I was with you all when you were at your original location. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!! less

Went here with our neighbors a few months ago. Great food! A little more "cafeteria-like" than I expected. My husband and I had had Mongolian BBQ in Chicago that was superb, and we were hoping for a similar experience. The meat was just a little less attractive looking here, and there were no laminated "recipe cards" with suggestions on how to mix meats, sauces, and vegetables, but everything tasted great and of course, it was really cheap. Can't complain. less

THE Mongolian Barbeque of the South Bay, the Big Wok is cheap, fast, and extremely tasty. Mongolian Barbeque, for those who haven't heard, is actually a kind of build-your-own stir fry. An ingredient bar is set up like a salad bar - the customer selects ingredients, then takes them to the enormous grill for cooking. At the Big Wok, prices are between 5-10 dollars - all you can eat, with bread and rice included. Meat and non-meat options are included, although strict vegetarians and those with religious restrictions on meat should know that the meat and vegetable entrees are cooked in the same area and often at the same time. (You can always request that the grill be cleaned and your entree cooked separately.) The atmosphere is highly casual - kids are welcome, though less-adventurous children are sometimes turned off by the unfamiliarity. less
