I visit Bentley about 3 times per year when i have company, and I always get the Dolphin the weeds, with the Drunken Sweet potato and a ceasar salad..Yummy.. The food is not bad at Bentley's, but for what you end up with, it is quite overpriced. I hate to ridicule the service since the owner/manager seems like such a nice guy, but most of the hosts, bartenders, and wait staff are incompetent. Service ... more

The food is not bad at Bentley's, but for what you end up with, it is quite overpriced. I hate to ridicule the service since the owner/manager seems like such a nice guy, but most of the hosts, bartenders, and wait staff are incompetent. Service is slow and the attitudes are generally apathetic and unapologetic. I had this experience once, went back to give them a second chance, and went through the routine a second time. Not worth it considering the other great options in the area. less

I've visited most of the high profile restaurants in the Keys, and my experience here was the worst. The first night we went, we were not approached by the wait staff for 30 minutes. We ended up finishing our drinks (we got them at the bar while we waited) and left. BUT, since we read good reviews (mostly the ones below this here), we went a second time. The service was slow, the food was fair, but far lower quality than the prices would indicate, and we were overcharged for things left and right. An extra round of drinks were added to the bill and the drinks were not accurately rung up ($3 per for four drinks!). In all, the service was bad and the overcooked shrimp didn't quite make up for it...... less

Living in Pennsylvania, we get to frequent Islamorada several times a year. Without a doubt, our favorite seafood restaurant is Bentleys. The early bird special offers the freshest raw oysters and tasty ckicken wings at an excellent price. Their crabcakes are the best I've ever tasted and, being a sushi lover, their tuna wasabi makes my palate salivate with just the thought. For the past dozen years, we have never had a disappointing meal. less
