If you like hamburgers and fries, this is your place. The menu has changed dramatically since it opened. It features some terrible dishes-the chicken ceasar was the worst I have ever eaten, anywhere. The ales and beers are first-rate. So, my advice is get a table with a great view and order one of their home-brewed ales. Then, go to a better restaurant for your meal. less

Well they have clearly improved significantly since the last reviews as their food was very good in taste and quality. First time dining here and hubby and I were very impressed, but unfortunately they have very little to offer us so we will not be returning. Hubby and I are vegetarians though he eats salmon and the only option for me was a fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato sandwich on foccacia (very yummy but so over priced) and he got the one salmon dish and there was nothing else he could get if we were to return. He tried a couple beers but they were average he said. I ordered a Lime Margarita, but it just tasted like margarita mix. Service was stellar however. Every staff person and especially our server was beyond professional and friendly. Best we have encountered and that says a whole lot! The restaurant/bar is so loud however that everyone has to scream to hear anything (which is why it's so loud...) Our server had to duck down close to us and scream and we had to scream our order. It's rather ridiculous. The crowd is also very not us. Young yuppy crowds is just not our thing. This restaurant definitely needs a location near PacBell park as that's the exact type of crowds they bring in. Anyhow, overall the experience was about 3 stars because of the insane loudness of the restaurant (and the park chalet is no better if not worse) very over pried food for what they serve. Hubbies salmon was the tiniest fillet he's gotten ordering salmon and he orders it at least once a week at various restaurants. Alcoholic drinks very average tasting. Service was great and food tasted great. Nothing to go back for though. And having to go down stairs via the elevator to use the gross smelly bathroom was definitely a big negative. I know it's an Historic building and they probably were not allowed to build a new bathroom that's more accessible, but this is mighty inconvenient and it's just a really nasty old bathroom. less

Hey guys, this place is a brewpub, you know beer, beer and more beer. Food, while alright, was not the focus when this place was proposed. Now I like breakfast here, when it is not crowded. Dinner is alright too, when it is not crowded. When this place gets crowded the kitchen cannot handle the load and gets all kinds of backed up. Well, have another beer (handcrafted on the premises) and just learn how to wait. Take a look at the view, slow down and enjoy all of the gifts that our way of life has to offer. On balance, this is actually apretyy good place for both beer and pretty good grub, er, food... less

The place is full of yuppies and euros and its depressing because it could have been so much more. The whole downstairs is a big waste of space. They have this whole scale model museum where the pool tables ought to be. I was living right there when the place opened and we were all very anxious to finally have a neighborhood watering hole. No such luck. less
