For anyone fortunate enough to find themselves in Wisconsin
I would highly recommend a departure from the traditional foods
of the state - beer and cheese - to try out Bandung's Indonesian
food. The peanut sauce, seafood dishes, sate, nasi goreng, rendang,
tempe and everything else that I have tried have been fabulous.
Lots of great vegetarian dishes, too. Also...wonderful service
by a knowledgable and attractive staff. And try the chocolate
volcano cake for dessert! My only criticism was the lack of a full
bar: Bandung only offers wine and beer and sake. The Kari Lele
(a delicious, spicy curry catfish dish) could have been nicely
washed down with a Tanqueray and tonic. And a few shots of tequila.
And a single malt scotch. Mmmmmmm. I guess if they had hard-liquor,
I would never leave.
