This is my favorite "dive" (sorry, Anita) for New Mexico-style Mexican food. I could eat there once a day which is difficult for folks to believe considering the number of "upscale" restaurants that I frequent, but when you find something good and basic, you just gotta say something. Don't expect great service. Just good predictable food. You either like it or you don't. (And if you don't, then there is more for me.) Order the carne asada and the chile con queso. Breakfast is basic, and not just mexican fare. Pancakes and waffles are also a part of the menu. The breakfast burrito is a favorite with everyone and inexpensive. In fact, I used to frequent this restaurant way back when the real Anita used to run the show. Always a favorite with me for very casual dining or takeout. less

The food is not all that great, but the service is awful! I've had water spilled on me, the wrong order brought to the table, VERY slow service, and mediocre food. Anita's started out well, but I think expanded into too many stores to support it ... more
