After 8 years away from DFW, I was thrilled to find our favorite restaurant, Amici's Signature Italian, still operating in old downtown Carrolton. Chef Bartilino continues to work his magic in the kitchen. Check out the daily specials, because they truly are special. But save room for dessert, the almond baskets are our favorites. Enjoy your own great bottle of wine, Amici's is BYOB. <br> On our recent visit, I was disappointed not to find a Polenta dish among the starters. When I inquired, my request was granted and I completely enjoyed my goat cheese & sausage polenta. My wife had the scallops and would only share a taste because they were so succulent. <br> Our veal and chicken entrees were devine and the presentation was terrific. Dessert was marscopone cream & strawberries in an almond basket nestled in a pool of rasberry sauce. My wife had the almond wafers with bananas and chocolate. Both absolutely heaven. less

Someone got their wires crossed...I haven't reviewed any Philly Cheese Steak places recently...but I did file a review of Amici Signature Italian.....this place is outstanding.....really great italian food (some with a southwest flavor...like all good chefs....Bartolino Cocuzza uses the local ingredients to add his own signature flavor)....since it has been several months since I first wrote my review...(lost in the ozone apparently)...I can't name all the different dishes I had...but there were 3 of us there that night...and we all ordered something different then we proceeded to taste all the dishes....
The only drawback...no wine or beer license....the chef will gladly accomodate your own wine selection (modest corkage fee of $5.00...) less
