Great lunch specials, excellent service and wonderful ambience, this is one of the best ethnic restuarants in the entire Cincinnati area! The chicken tikka soup was splendid, the aloo vindaloo--potatoes in hot sauce were both awesome. Check it out you'll be glad you did. less

Order some naan, a thin, crispy yet chewy flatbread, to go with your meal. <br> The dining room is kind of small, one room in the front of the house, so you might be in for a wait at busy times. The entire restaurant is non-smoking as well, and there is no bar area to enjoy a drink while waiting. Other than that, this is the best Indian in town. less

If you have never tried Indian food, don't be too concerned about "heat". At Ambar, you can order the "hot/spicyness" of the dish. They are happy to explain dishes and "hot/spicyness" levels.
The curry is thick and complex, this is THE BEST CURRY in the area! Lots of vegetarian options. Loads of appetisers, but beware because the portions of the entrees are ample.
The nan (Indian flat bread) is soft and delicious. I like the garlic nan.
Try the Vindaloo if you like it hot. Vinegary, peppery, spicy!
Cool off with a Mango Lassi...The Indian yogurt milkshake. less
