Aldo's is by far the best Italian restaurant I have been to. It is very evident they put a lot of pride into everything they make. Their steaks are superb and the service is second to none. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a nice quiet or romantic dinner for two. less

This place has really gone downhill. I had a few pretty good meals there a few years back, but on a recent visit. The hostess was on her cell phone, and kept talking, while she seated us. We waited at our table for about 10 minutes with no service ... more

This place has really gone downhill. I had a few pretty good meals there a few years back, but on a recent visit. The hostess was on her cell phone, and kept talking, while she seated us. We waited at our table for about 10 minutes with no service. There were only 3 or 4 tables in the whole restaurant. I got up and found a server and he told us someone would be with us in just a minute. We waited another 10 minutes, and a server finally showed up. He took our order and the food arrived, the pasta dish had a good flavor, but the penne pasta was way overcooked. The chicken salad consisted of one very small scoop of chicken salad, with a little garnish. (there were about 4 bites of chicken) When I complained about my portion, I was told that was the usual size of the entree. In regards to the undercooked pasta, he said it was allready partly cooked pasta, and he could make it over, but would probably take about 30 minutes. As we were about to finish our meal, another table was seated next to us. The same waiter came by and told them about several specials that were available, as well as what wines were currently being offered by the glass. We were not told about any of these. When we asked our waiter about this, he said something like, I didn't think you would be interested in any of "those" specials. We were in casual attire, the other group was more dressed up than us. I guess "those" specials are reserved for the suits. Hmmmmm. This place sucks! less

This is by far the best Italian restaurant in this area. Aldo's is by far one of our favorite restaurants in the Hampton Roads area. Atmosphere is good - food is GREAT - very good wine list. I have probably eaten at this restaurant around 20 times and have never had a complaint, nor have any of the people I dined with! You can't go wrong here. less

Aldo's is by far one of our favorite restaurants in the Hampton Roads area. Atmosphere is good - food is GREAT - very good wine list. I have probably eaten at this restaurant around 20 times and have never had a complaint, nor have any of the people I dined with! You can't go wrong here. less
