I had the ravioli with white corn, squash, and some other vegetables. The menu said it was served with pesto, but the sauce was in fact lighter and more interesting than pesto. My friend had a smoked chicken sandwich with watercress aioli; she said it was delicious. For dessert we had a plate of three sorbets (plum, strawberry, and cantaloupe) which were beautifully presented and mouth-wateringly fruity. Service was good, although this isn't the place to come for a speedy lunch. less

Tasty but unremarkable yuppie food. Good service. Don't bother with the famous beef cheeks; they're stringy and fatty, sort of like second-rate potroast.

The appetizers (including carrots with cilantro, artichoke hearts in hot sauce, and cashews with black and white sesame seeds) were particularly tasty. Lots of great vegetarian entrees--we especially liked the fried tofu with lichees. The two non-veg entrees we got (chicken coconut curry and something with shrimp and corn) were also excellent. Prices are higher than the average Chinese food dive, but not at all unreasonable: we stuffed ourselves for $12/person, including tax and tip. less

Entrees include chicken, sirloin steak, and "No Meat Loaf", and there are various side dishes such as sweet potato pudding, corn relish, and garlic mashed potatoes. Other than the cheddar buttermilk biscuit, nothing I had was all that good. The steak was tough and brown, the green beans overgrown, the sweet potato glop too sweet. Ambience is also not a draw, unless you feel drawn to photos of tractors. On the plus side, prices are low, and you can look at most of the side dishes before choosing. less

It's kind of expensive compared with most Cafes, but it's very good. The antipasto-like plate has many tasty items including marinated eggplant, stuffed artichoke, and polenta and cilantro fritters. Vegetarians can substitute something for the smoked fish. The Roman gnocchi didn't look anything like the gnocchi I'm used to (it looked more like a wedge of polenta), but it was delicious. The desserts are good, too. The service is nice in a sort of charmingly disorganized way. less

A bit more expensive than most Indian restaurants, but worth it. This is definitely the best Indian food I've had in the Bay area-- creative, nicely presented, tasty, and fresh. Yum. Service is kind of slow, as in many Indian restaurants.
