Home cooked type meals in an authentic home town restaurant. Close
enough to the railroad tracks to hear and watch the trains go through
town.

According to their website http://zunigrill.com , located at the
foot of the historic Hugman Bridge, Zuni Grill serves breakfast, lunch
and dinner at the most picturesque bend in the Riverwalk, seven days
a week. Inspired by the flavors of the American Southwest, Zuni’s
menu offers something for everyone. Savor the spicy bite of Scorpion
Shrimp Stuffed Red Chiles, and the satisfying smoky flavor of Blue
Corn Chicken Enchiladas. And, we’re the bright-eyed choice for
breakfast, serving daily at 7:30, adding a bounteous buffet on the
weekends. Zuni’s open, airy spaces and cypress-shaded riverside
patio seating offer scenic views of the Riverwalk.
Open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
My wife and I split a couple of appetizers (Blue Corn Nachos - 8.95, Veggie
Promo - 6.95), an order of steak fajitas (17.95) and a marvelous flan
(6.95). It was a wonderful meal and we had a difficult time easting so
much food. Our server (Wooten) was prompt, attentive and genuinely
interested in us and our visit. The food was significantly better than
the Casa Rio on the Riverwalk - see my review of that faciity, also on

I ordered the Tortilla soup (4.50) and it was okay, but rather thing.
My wife and I ordered the meat-filled Chili Relleno (10.25) and they
were too big to finish, but nothing to write home about. Overall a pretty
average-to-fair restaurant.

Recommended by our hotel consierge, we decided to give the Rusty Duck
a shot. It exceeded our expectations. Waitstaff was exceedingly friendly
and helpful. We ordered the Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes appetizer and
my wife ordered the regular cut Prime Rib dinner and I ordered the Ribs/Duck
Combo dinner. Portions were most generous. We managed to empty our
plates and fill ourselves, but there was no room for dessert - and their
desserts looked fabulous. We loved the food, the atmospehere, and
watching boats on the river in the moonlight. Highly recommended for
a romantic dinner for two, but save room for their desserts!

If it isn't THE best it is certainly ONE of the best. I tend to rate
most Mexican restaruants by their Chile Relleno. La Casitas was amongst
the best. Their obligatory tostatas were served with a choice of mild,
medium, or hot salsa. I chose the hot and although it wasn't so hot
my wife couldn't eat it, it was still hot enough to satisfy my desire
for spicy. Portions were generous and the meal was excellent. The ambiance
was average but the food more than made up for that. It seemed a little
strange having a Laotian chef come take my order, but he and his wife
were the owners and the only other employee was a Hispanic waitress.
Overall, a very satisfying dining experience.

The Mountain Village Restaurant in Stanley, Idaho is located in the
heart of the Sawtooth Mountains. The log building is rustic with an
authentic mountain decor and atmosphere. The menu was somewhat limited
and my wife ordered "steak fingers" and I ordered a top sirloin.
My steak was a little tough but cooked as I ordered it. The vegetables
were okay, but nothing special. Service was friendly and unobtrusive.
Better than I expected for the only place in town. Two meals with water,
no dessert and tax came to $31 with tip.

I can hardly believe the disparity in the ratings on this restaurant.
We had reservations for a party of sixteen and the place was clean, service
a little slow (shortstaffed) but very accomodating. Tony was our waiter
and he was pleasant and entertaining. The decour was a little old, but
very genuinely Italiano. My veal Tuscany was outstanding and I couldn't
have been happier with my meal choice. Others raved about their seafood,
their pasta and their appetizers. Those who chose wine with their meals
were most pleased with both the red and white selections. We didn't
feel rushed and the locals in our party all commented that they frequent
the place. Sixteen in the party and every meal prepared as ordered with
total satisfaction and without a single complaint. What more could
you ask for? Parking was limited but the food was great.

A wonderful and unassuming diner, close to I-84. The dining room appears
to be two old diner cars appended to an existing building. The waitstaff
were extremely friendly and attentive. The menu is remarkably diverse,
yet Mexican. I ordered the Tres Amigos, chicken, shrimp and real crab
cooked with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and covered with jack cheese
and a touch of wihe. It was delicious.
My spouse ordered a frajita salad with charcoal-broiled steak and
simply raved about it. We each ordered a side Chile Relleno and could
not finish our meals. The obligatory tostatas with home made salsa
were delicious and the waitstaff replaced the basket each time it got
"low" - they didn't let it get empty.
There is a marvelous painting that runs along the outside walls at the
ceiling, like a long two-foot wide mural. It is incredibly well done
and detailed.
A fun and filling place to eat, very family friendly and delicious food.
A great value and great food.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. It is authentic and
not a chain Mexican food wanna-be. The prices are reasonable, service

I particularly recommend the lunch buffet (6.95 M - F) and sit where
you can watch the corn tortillas being made, hand pressed and cooked.
My only problem is that I usually eat too much so I am uncomfortable on
the way home!
