My folks like the Riverview. There is no river, and the atmosphere is dark and elderly. The staff is USUALLY very friendly. Today we had the worst dining experience ever with a waitress named Melissa (she gave my 82 year old father permission "to call and complain about me--my name is Melissa"). She did not bring out my mother's meal until the other three of us had finished eating. Very little explanation , and not truly apologetic. To avoid a confrontation with my very angry father, I mildly suggested they compensate my mother's $12 meal, to which she replied "I can't do that. If I had the money to pay for it myself, I would, but I don't!" Again, we can afford the meal, but it was suggested to keep customer service intact. No go! It was so weird just having my mother sit there in the waitress' view without having a meal. (Only one other table was occupied). My parents will still eat there because they are regulars and like the restaurant. I will not. But because it is locally owned, I would encourage others to support it as well. But please apprise the staff and management of my review. I will happily sign my name: Lisa Profetto
