The restaurant is actually relatively spacious, but like it has been said, it can get packed at times. The decor is western flavored, which is not my cup of tea, but when you are out west it is something you see a lot of. If you're just wanting to try some place different, this is a good place to go. Otherwise you can go to one of the pizza places or finer restaurants in town. less

It's a better atmosphere than most casino coffee shops are, with the exception of the keno signs, it doesn't really feel like you are in a casino. They have a wide variety of good food and decent prices. They also have daily specials that you can get at an even better price. The only thing I would like more here, but is a falling of most casino restaurants, is that there are very few windows. less

Not so with the Pizza Factory, as you will see them toss the dough themselves. I would go to the Pizza Factory over a Shakey's or Pizza Hut. The thing with the Pizza Factory franchise is that one won't exactly be like the other. The one in Bishop tastes different than one in southern California. I usually have a pepperoni-mushroom pizza here, and on occasion, the breadsticks, which I really enjoy. less

The restaurant ... more I have seen Whiskey Creek change over the years since the restaurant used to be two restaurants in one place - Whiskey Creek and Copper Kettle - back in the mid to late 80s. Now it is just Whiskey Creek and I like what it has become. The restaurant has nice decor and is very relaxing. The bar area is separate so those coming here for dining do not have to hear the noise that is common with bars in restaurants. If you have anyone that is a finicky eater, check the menu first, as they don't have the widest selection. But what they do have is all very good. This is a great place to go to take a date or someone special to. On top of it, you have small town service, where the waiters and waitresses have that extra special courtesy that is hard to find in the larger cities. less

The Mandarin Gourmet is an actual restaurant as opposed to many of the Chinese food places that are either fast food places or just a notch above fast food but not quite a restaurant. Still, the Mandarin Gourmet has fast service and is a great place to go for lunch, even on a workday. I've had the sweet and sour chicken. The vegetables were not soggy like you can get at other places, they were very crisp. The Mandarin Gourmet is just west of the Denny's that you will see when you are on US 395. less

You also have to bag your own groceries, but that is hardly a big deal to me. less

Despite that, Johnny Rockets isn't that bad of a place. less

Definitely a place to go eat if you find yourself in the Gardnerville area. There's a lot to choose from in the menu and you get lots of great food for a good price. The diner itself is clean and the people polite.

I've had the dulche de leche (or as they call it, caramel) cheesecake which was good. I've also had the sizzling apple pie type dessert which was ok, but I'd rather stick to regular apple pie. less
