We tried them on what should have been their best night serving food. We went as a party of four on a Friday night at 715pm. I had heard good things about this place, so I wanted to put them to the test on a busy night. An appetizer, and entree's for 4 people drinking water ran a bill of $55 including the tip. HIGH VALUE at this restaurant, however our food was very bland. Dishes we ordererd was the Baked Ziti, Spaghetti w/marinara, Calzone, and Chicken Francese (sp?). Everything except the chicken dish was well worth the $. The Chicken dish had a $14 price tag on it, but was much less of a portion to any of the other dishes. Our waitress was nice and I enjoyed the complementary fresh hot loafs of bread. NO OIL or VINEGAR to go along with the bread however, just whipped butter. less

One of Old Town's Smallest Delis with one of the Largest Breakfast Menus. Mon-Fri: 7am-330pm (Breakfast 7-11) Saturday: 8am-3pm (Breakfast served all day) Sunday: 8am-1pm (Breakfast served all day) From the breakfast menu you can enjoy Sandwiches, Omelettes, Wraps, French Toast, Oatmeal (seasonal), pancakes, and Eggs cooked to order. I grabbed this spot as I heard it was a great little whole in the wall for locals. For breakfast I ordered on the menu what is called "DeLox Accommodations" For $6.95, you get a thick slab of cream chease, with a slicke of onion, tomato and smoked salmon on your choice of bagel. This sandwich was OUTSTANDING. As I was there enjoying my breakfast everytime someone came in the door they were greeted with a warm hello and called by their name. So you can tell this is definately a local hang out spot with a friendly atmosphere. Across from me sat an architect who was drawing their latest layout on paper while enjoying a huge thick blueberry pancake. Around the counter at bar stools sat several of the retired locals discussing the previous nights football game. Adorning the walls are sports memorbelia, along with family and friends. Don't expect to show up here and get a seat. There are about 4 tables to sit at, and the counter area with bar stools fills up very quickly. I lucked out and got there just before people started showing up and was lucky enough to get a table. This restaurant sits just a few blocks off the water and if this restaurant is packed, just get it to go and head down to the water for a beautiful view. less

This place would be better if they litterally named it "Gringo Food". The food is bland, and way overpriced. We went with a party of 2 and started off trying their "Queso Fundido". Now if this was authentic mexican food, they would have used actuall cheese and melted it in a small skillet then mixed chorizo throughout. What they did was get the can powdered cheese and put small amounts of generic chorizo and throw a $6 price tag on it... Major rip off, and generic tasting. Next we tried a simple mexican dish...Fajitas.. We ordered their Texas Fajitas for 2. $20 price tag for this dish... Real simple...Basic Mexican dish..Shrimp, Chicken, Beef, onions, bell peppers... AND THEY SCREWED THAT UP!! Bland, no taste at all..The chicken and the beef had no flavor... To drink we tried their Margaritas...ONCE again HUGE disappointment. They put so much margarita mix into their drinks you can't taste the flavor of the tequila at all. I would rather cook for someone who wants mexican food at my house, then to have you go to this restaurant and waste your money. less

We decided to try this place out during their "endless shrimp" promotion. Our service was outstanding by our waitress, and the food was average. Other than going through 7 extra orders of the shrimp servings I definately don't think that Red Lobster is ever worth the price that they charge. If you love seafood then please look elsewhere for great seafood. less

I took my family of four to this restaurant on a Sunday morning about 11am. I watched the waitress serve the wrong food to the table next to us. She set the plate down and the customers didn't even touch it. The waitress realized the mistake and immediately took the food back. She took the food and placed it into the busboys dirty dishes tray instead of taking it to the kitchen where it could be served to someone else. To me that speakes volumes of the type of quality that is put into the care of the customer at this restaurant. I ate the Grecian Omelet and it was awesome!! My wife had the Western Omelet and it was a generous size loaded out. It was definately worth the price that is listed on the menu. Since it was named as a Pancake house we chose to have to try the pancakes...We tried just the plain ole Buttermilk pancakes with our meals, and the restaurant was definately named appropriately. They are good, definately better than IHOP. They have gourmet pancakes as well that range from Apple to Sweet Potato. This place was named Best Breakfast in 2009 by the Virginian Pilot for the city of Norfolk and from what I have seen so far, it deserves it. less

We attended this on a Saturday evening expecting to get their during a good high occupancy time. When we pulled into the parking lot it almost looked as if they were completely closed. No lights outside were on showing that they were even open. I looked through the window and seen that there were lights on inside over the buffet food. Well we gave them a shot anyways. One lady at the cash register greeted us while sitting down reading a magazine, another teenage boy sat in the back (which turned out to be our waiter) staring at us. Eventually he came over to ask us for our drink order. We just grabbed food from the buffet, and didn't even attempt to look at a menu. The food was ok, but you could tell it had been sitting there for quiet awhile, and was only "heat lamp" warm. For the price of their buffet (our tab was $15 for 2 adults, and that is ordering water to drink) I would recommend just hitting the Asian Buffet over on SPID. Allot more bang for your buck over there. less

(20 minute wait) I grabbed the Chicken Fajita Tacos for breakfast along with the Egg & Country Sausage. My guest grabbed the Chorizo Mexican Plate that was just Chorizo, Egg, and Refried Beans. The beans were horrible, but the service, and atmosphere made up for it. I would definately want to try this place again when they have the right "kitchen staff" cooking. I would recommend elsewhere for breakfast such as the pancake house down the street, but I will be trying these folks again for lunch and dinner as allot of people talk good about this place. less
