It was worth a trip. 5 of us went for a Saturday night dinner- need reservations. It was crowded and noisy but fun. Cool dining room decor with holiday decorations and millions of Christmas lights (will have to go back in summer to check it out)- mostly pretty retro in looks and menu- a cross between a Wisconsin supper club and a bigger city Italian restaurant. Nice location by the marina and Best Western. You can walk along the lakefront if it's nice out. I think the second floor is a banquet room that must have a pretty view. I like the little neighborhood and parking is OK behind the restaurant at night. So! Kidney bean salad and pasta salad were our complimentary "relishes." Bread and tossed salad were only fair- kind of disappointing. We had: combination plate (lasagna, gnocchi, and ravioli) "pretty good." fettuccine Alfredo "pretty good" chicken Marsala "pretty good" chicken piccata "pretty good" Italian sausage with pasta "really good"- we think it was homemade or at least locally made. Large portions and lots of other choices. We'll try something American or pizza next time. Nice waiter (Mark) and a pretty decent wine list according to the wine-drinkers in our group. Fun and lively, with pretty good food, and not a chain, so...try it! less

I had wanted to go here for years, and finally made it, but was actually a little disappointed. We had a long wait, no room at the bar, and there's nowhere to even sit or stand, so we walked around the sort-of interesting neighborhood. The Faded Rose wasn't that attractive-looking; I had been told it was elegant. It's super-noisy. The steak was just OK. Jambalaya was pretty good, I was told. We had a nice, efficient waiter and have no real complaints. It was just an expensive let-down. I'd rather go to Doe's. less

Absolutely wonderful! Found it by accident. It's in a darling small town famous for a discount shoe store and not too much else. The building is old and rustic and adorably historic- a combination of several storefronts now- it was originally a small butcher shop and has been in business for many years. They've "re-created" themselves as sort of an upscale supper club and it's comfortable and casual, yet beautiful and elegant. Bar was full at weekday evening Happy Hour. We ate early and had no wait though it was getting busier as we left. A delicious dinner for two- one had liver with great side dishes, and one had a chicken pasta and the best soup I've ever had! EVER! I mean it! No room for dessert though it looked great. A professional and friendly waitress gave just the right amount of attention and knew her business. We will drive here as often as we can! They say they're "just like Italy," and they are telling the truth! This is the most authentic Italian place around, with some dishes one doesn't usually see, like octopus, mussels, cod... but I am a fussy American, so I usually get the pizza, which is fabulous, or the more common pastas like spaghetti, ravioli, or gnocchi. They are homemade and great! They make a really great Italian sausage right there. Also some good sandwiches. My two favorite pizzas are the Margherita and now the Quattro Stagioni- unbelievably good! The service is as good as the food. The waitresses are mother and daughter, and they are so sweet. Back-up servers are the sons, I think- so nice. Other relatives are cooking or eating. They'll explain things and treat you like family. It's an OK-looking place but short on that Italian cozy charm, being in a strip mall next to a TaeKwon Do Place. I go as often as I can, and hope this nice family can make a success of it. Definitely try it. It's just a little ways off of US-41 so very easy drive from anywhere. less
