Without a doubt, this is a shining oasis among the crowd of assembly
line breakfast places around Marietta. The food is extremely tasty,
prepared fresh and the portions border on the insane...the biscuits
alone are nearly as big as some of the fast food chain's hamburgers.
The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is bright and cheerful, and as
another reviewer noted, it's not uncommon for the owners to come
out and greet you while you're eating. We tried the sausage gravy
biscuit (which the owner told us is a recipe from his business partner's
grandmother), the sausage biscuit (as big as a quarter-pound hamburger)
and my son got the pancakes (which would dwarf the same fare from McDonald's).
We also all shared one of the signature "sweet biscuits"
with raspberry and white chocolate...it was seriously good. My only
complaint about this place has nothing to do with the food...the signage
out front doesn't really give the casual passer-by a indication
of the amazing biscuity goodness contained inside. Beyond that, I
plan on putting Sunrise on my short list of weekly culinary indulgences
and will spread the gospel for those who are sick of breakfast coming
from a freezer or dumped out of a bag and reheated.
