Reasonable, locally brewed beer with decent food. Very small menu, but they have a nice green chile stew w/squash and available w/o meat. The daily specials are also good.
Trading Post Cafe	Ranchos de Taos, NM
Pricey but tasty. A wide menu, fresh ingredients and a bunch of creative cooks turn out some of the better food on the highway into Taos. It's not, cheap, however, so visit sparingly.

Their sandwhiches generally consist of a bit of meat and some fluffy white bread type roll. The only thing I can really stomach there are their sweet potato/yam fries. My guess is the patio and the beer (which is only okay) is what keeps them from folding. less

Be forwarned, however, the salsa is hot and the potatoes on the side of most dishes are very filling. <br> The menu is pretty standard for NM cuisine and the portions are large so I'd hold off on ordering a second relleno/enchilada/whatever unless you're looking for tomorrows lunch as well. (evidence of this is the fact that >50% of the folks leaving the restaurant have take-out boxes). <br> I'm a big fan of the Chile Rellenos. They are definitely worth trying. less

The best NM food I've found in the area. Not only are the entrees great but the potatoes and bean side servings are unbelievably good and the sopapillas are light and fluffy. <br> The wine margaritas are also worth trying.

I rather non-descript place but with a solid menu and good chile. The staff was friendly and the food tasty. Definitely worth checking out and a good place to hit for a late saturday morning breakfast.

Nothing special in a culinary sense but they're open late, cheap, and serve Greek as well as Mexican. Never eaten inside but the take out menu has saved my butt a number of times (perhaps even tonight...)
