We made reservations as it was our anniversary and we were unfamiliar
with restaurants in Ventura. They were great and actually called me
in the afternoon to confirm our reservation.
When we arrived they had a very nice booth reserved in a quiet corner.
The wait service was very professional and the food was exceptional.
We had a special veal chop as well as a rigatoni with Shrimp dish that
were both exceptional. There was no issues with corking our own wine
and the corkage fee of $10 seemed very reasonable to me.
I can especially recommend the Caprese Pizza....yes I said Pizza,
which was served cold and was very, very good as an appetizer!

What a Disappointment!!! I grew up in the Bay Area and even though I am
Italian and have a special place for East Coast Pizza.....I always
liked the RT pizza I ate as long as 30 years ago. RT used to be the "Last
Honest Pizza" it's too bad that RT has lost sight of what helped
them grow. Great product with fair prices was what made RT a fixture....today
the quality is PATHETIC.....portion control is out of control and
I can only say that today's RT is the "Last DIS-Honest Pizza"!!!
I paid $22 for a Large pizza yesterday here in San Clemente and the quality
and amount of ingredients used was not only bad.....but quite honestly
I felt "RIPPED OFF"!!!
30 years of good memories down the drain....too bad because the local
RT is walking distance from my home but you will NEVER see me there again!!!

Papa Luigi is in the kitchen every night and is always paying attention

Highly recommended!

with the comments back in 2000.
I visited last week and found it to be very good at this point. The menu
was new and varied and the service was very good along with a tremendous
view that has never changed!
The entree selection was eclectic and very contemporary. I had the
seafood rigatoni and found it to be great!
Wine list was good and reasonably priced even though we brought our
own bottle.
I recommend this restaurant to out of towners as well as locals!
Enjoy

Well We were back again to this restaurant last night. We seem to eat
here once a year on our Anniversary (Today) and again everything was
great.
The owner and our waiter remembered us even though we only eat here once
a year...that is so nice.
I am always impressed at how reasonable the prices are at this restaurant.
The menu is certainly a bit limited but the daily specials have always
been varied and delightful. I can honestly say that I have never had
a bad meal here and the service is always fun, engaging and attentive!
Aldo the owner is always on top of things and even though I do understand
that there have been some underwhelming reviews this place is truly
one of the hidden gems of San Francisco! Eating at Restorante Milano
for me is like having a great bottle of wine that you found for $20!
Itls certainly easy to find great food in San Francisco.....and it;s
easy to find reasonable prices (well maybe not that easy)....but Milano
is the absolute best of both worlds!!!
Ask for a table in the back on top when you call as long as you have a party
of 4 or less!!
Good eating!

This is certainly one of the best restaurants in the city. It was
recommended by a few friends as well as the excellent reviews
on this board so when we were in SF for a special occasion we decided
to plan the 60 days in advance that is sometimes needed for a reservation
at this trendy location. We did make reservations for our "special"
night and I asked a few times for a quiet place where we could celebrate
our night together.
The restaurant was very professional in calling us 2 days prior
to our reservation to confirm and I was certainly encouraged
when they mentioned that they knew we were coming for our anniversary.
I again asked for a quiet spot and they were very understanding.
We arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation
and were immediatly seated. Unfortunately we were shown to a
table that shared a bench with the next tabe and was as close to
the front door as you could be without being outside, not exactly
what I had in mind when I asked for a quiet table for our special
occasion.
The wait staff was very attentive however they seemed to be a bit
transparent in their desire to "turn" the table quickly.
Everyone was a professional as they could be. They were all on
time and certainly were a product of exceptional training and
attention to detail and with time I am sure that this will come
off as much more natural and a bit less forced. Please don't
misunderstand the experience was great, it just seemed a bit
contrived!
We were looking to take our time and it was apparent that they were
really in the "Production mode" as our waiter was
back at our table 3 times within the first 10 minutes trying to
take our order even though it was or should have been apparent
that we were really trying to take our time and enjoy our night
together. The wine list is certainly extensive at 56 pages not
including the table of contents but I would have to say while they
did have a very nice selection of high priced and hard to find wines,
the mid priced ($75 - 120) catagory was certainly lacking. We
did find a nice bottle that we were familiar with and certainly
were glad that we were able to compliment our food with a very nice
wine. While you certainly don' go to a restaurant like Gary
Danko to worry about prices even the diehard diners can't
help but notice wine at 60 - 70% above other premiere dining locations.
The apitizer as well as our entrees were exceptional as was every
bit of food that we were privelidged to enjoy during our visit
to Gary Danko. I can understand why this restaurant is enjoying
such a good run right now. I think that this restaurant is rated
fairly as one of the highest ranked locations in SF, I think this
restaurant will go from exceptional to truly great and one of
a kind when the service and attention to detail matches the quality
of the food, but that is something that will only come with time.
All in all no fine dining tour of the city should be without a visit
to Gary Danko, I will check back in next year for an update.

Went back again 3 years after the first review. We have been back
3 or 4 times since the first visit and the food here is always consistently
great.
We were seated immediately after we arrived in a very nice table
in the back just slightly above the rest of the rather small dining
room (seats ~50). It was a great place to be as we could see everything
going on.
We had the Peperoni y Mozzarella which was a great Cheese and polenta
dish served with wonderful Italian peppers. Dinner brought
the Risotto of the day (seafood) as well as a special dish made
with Portobello mushrooms, Italian Sausage and the ever prevalent
polenta.
The desert was very good with the requisite tiramisu but the highlight
was the profiteroles which were unique with a special Italian
lemon crème filling that is as good as any I have had anywhere in
the world.
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant even
after 3 years and new ownership. We continue to make this a required
stop whenever we are in town and will continue to do so for many
years into the future, we hope!
We are off to one of the only restaurants rated higher than Milano
Restaurant namely Garo Danko so I hope to be able to post a complete
review tomorrow.
Cheers!

This is definately one of the best restaurants in Great Falls.
What a pleasent surprise to find this place. We are in town for
the first time and went there based on the review on this website.
This restaurant is definately mis-catagorized as a Mexican
restaurant. This place has a very eclectic mix and although there are 4 or 5
Mexican inspired entrees, there are also 12 - 15 Italian, 8 - 10
Seafood as well as Steaks. Their unique Gargonzola salad dressing
is spectacular. The service was exceptional and the total dinner
for 4 with deserts and 25% tip was well under $100.
I have the opportunity to travel throughout the world and get
a chance to eat at fine restaurant after fine restaurant and I
would rate this place as one of the best I have had the opportunity
to try. I am surprised to find an establishment of this caliber
in the small town of Great Falls Montana, who'd a thunk it?
You won't be sorry here!!!

We found this restraunt here on Dine.com and decided to give it
a try. We called ahead and got our name on the waiting list as suggeted
and this worked out great.
When we arrived we found our name was 2 from the top, which was great
as there must have been 10 more people below us on the list, good
call by a previous reviewer.
We found a seat at the bar and decided to order a bottle of wine.
The list was very limited but did offer a good selection of primarilary
Monterey based wineries. We weren't too familiar with the local
wineries and the bartender offered to let us try 3 different Chardonays
before we settled on a nice bottle.
The great service carried over to our waitress as we were seated
at our table within 5 minutes of sitting down at the bar and arriving
at the restaurant.
The food was very, very good with the Calamari steak done perfectly,
and could be easily mistaken for abalone. The Clam chowder is
as good as I have had anywhere, including most of the clam chowder
I get in New England. Our desert was great and we highly recommend
the Creme Brulee.
Don't be fooled by the exterior appearance of this restaurant,
the wait is well worth it, be sure to make a reservation or at least
call and get your name on the waiting list and you will be very happy
that you discovered our new favorite restaurant in the Monterey
area.
