Two particular dishes I can recommend: The Lobster with Ginger and Scallions is excellent but a lot of trouble to eat.. and they have a house special spring roll dish (not the ordinary spring rolls) that is really outstanding. less

Rancatore Ice Cream	Belmont, MA
This is my favorite ice cream place in the whole Boston Area. Rancatore's is perfectly flavored every time, it's got good texture, and they sell hot fudge sauce which is to die for. I can never get enough!!

Admittedly, I haven't been to the Andros diner that often but I always think of it as a good place. The food was always very flavorful but on the greasy-dinerish side. I particularly remember the Souvlaki. Good stuff!

Sure, they boast that their fish is the freshest of the catch and they spend lots of effort making sure it's healthy to eat. But when all is said and done, they hardly DO anything with it! For $20 an entree (more for stuff like Lobster) I would expect gourmet preparation, but instead they prepare it with pretty basic marinades and sauces and fairly good but ordinary side dishes. That being said, there aren't a lot of places you can get stuff like Lobster. If you do go here, there are two things which are a crime not to get: The Clam Chowder (nationwide famous, it's been served at several presidential inaugurations) and the fresh raw Oysters or Cherrystones.. hey... that's the kind of stuff where the freshness and safety inspection pays off directly into the food. less

The only shortfall of Tascanini's is that the texture of the ice cream is rather uneven, especially with all the mixed-in stuff they have in a lot of their flavors. If you get the chance and are in the right mood, try the Guiness Stout flavor... less

But much more impor ... more The Peking Garden restaurant is one of the two big Chinese Restaurants in Lexington Center, and while I don't like it as much as its rival in general, it does have two things going for it: first of all, their soup is much better. But much more importantly, they serve Dim Sum on weekends. It's not the typical dim sum experience: you actually order the dishes individually and they make them to-order, but nonetheless it's delicious and a lot less expensive than you'd think for Dim Sum. Do NOT eat Dim Sum here without having the special wonton soup: it's the best outside of chinatown (at least that I know of...) less
