We tried the new Space Needle aka Sky City. Serious disappointment.
Four of us tried four different dishes. We had reservations.
Still a half hour wait! 13 Coins or Anthony's Home Port or the Tower
Club--ALL have better food and better service. The steak, lobster,
salmon, and pasta all tend to be second rate and prepared more
for presentation than the palate. They come out looking good
but cold or "old" (sitting in the kitchen too long.)
Their coffee pots haven't been cleaned out--and the coffee tastes
like it. The deserts used to be great. Now...go to Denny's. The
view isn't as good, but the price is a lot better.
If you want an impressive view, this is still THE place to go. If
you want good food--check out some of the 4 & 5 **** restaurants.
They take credit cards, full service lounge, kinda handicapped
accessible. Parking sucks unless you use valet parking.

This is your typical Chinese restaurant in the middle of urban
American sprawl. The food has been Americanized--blanded out.
The location has been used for a Greek, Mexican and another Chinese
restaurant over the last 12 years. At least the interior is familiar--no
one has redecorated over the last 12 years:>/
Not surprising, the restaurant is in a small shopping center.
If you're looking for it, it's next to the "76" station at Filbert
Rd and Bothell-Everett Hwy.
The place can hold about 75-80. We've never seen more than 10-12
in there. So it's quiet.... It IS clean. The staff is clean and
nice. Limited English, of course. They have the same Chinese
menu that every other Chinese restaurant has; not a bad thing,
but not encouraging either.
The garlic beef was nicely done. The onions and other veggies
were cooked just right--not over or under cooked. With the garlic,
probably no vampires within miles:)
The snow peas and water chestnuts were also properly done. These
are the good dishes, so far. The rice was a disappointment: good
ole "Uncle Ben's" white rice. Not even decent Chinese rice.
The price to portion ratio is about on par for the area. They do
take credit cards, no checks. Open 7 days. No smoking. Beer & wine
are available. Handicapped accessible.

It has a small, overworked staff who seem friendly enough. The
place is a lot cleaner in 2000 than it was back in 1996 & 97!
The burgers aren't quite as big, but they are still cooked to order
(ie: if you order medium rare, you won't get a burnt hockey puck.).
They are among the few places that have Roma tomatos instead of
the standard beefsteak tomatos. Burgers are as good as Red Robbin--at
about the same price: $6-$9 with fries. You can substitute onion
rings (lightly battered, well done) for an extra $1 which they
don't bother to mention.
Surprisingly, for a bar, they have RC Cola instead of Coke® or
Pepsi®. They also feature Cafe del Oro coffee instead of, say,
Boyds or Folgers.
There is no separation of the smoking from the non smoking areas
to speak of-- a serious "downer."
They do serve a variety of burgers, pastas and salads. Oh, and
a full bar. They also seem to have a good desert menu.
Reasonable handicapped access. They do take credit cards, but
no checks. Parking is tough. Expect to walk a block or two on average.

Let me first say that I stop in here, on average, 6 days a week for
breakfast. It took the staff about a month to figure out how I liked
my breakfast. Exactly the same thing every day. Three of the five
got the drift in a couple of weeks. A couple of the others are slower
learners. Three months later, they still are working on it. This
is your typical neighborhood restaurant in a suburb of Seattle.
Not the executive crowd or the dot.com crowd. A lot of contractors
and senior citizens. Most are locals that come in from once a day
to a couple of times a month.
There is a large smoking area. But they have a HUGE smoke eater
overhead that WORKS! That impressed me so much! I have asthma
and I can be in the smoking room and still breathe! It's maintained
regularly. They also have a back room for the coffee groups or
parties or whatever.
The owner is a lady by the name of Melissa. Nice, friendly, a long
time waitress who decided to own her own place. She is in process
of improving the place this summer (2000). Old fashioned service
and new technology with old time cooks. It's interesting....
The food is average American. Nothing outstanding, but it's
familiar and comfortable. Once the waitresses get to know you,
it's like ordering at home (kinda).
They take credit cards. Open from 7AM to 10 PM. Main section is
smoking. Handicapped accessible.

This is NOT your average restaurant! The restaurant itself is
a hole in the wall. It makes most "goth" and "greasy spoons" look
bright and cheery by comparison. It is pretty much in the heart
of Woodinville.
Aside from a first impression of being in an abandoned junk store
when you walk in, there is some "comfortable" seating to the right--a
sofa and an easy chair or two. Off to the left there are a couple
more tables then the rest of the seating is past an archway--reminescent
of an old Mexican Western. The floor looks like it was last cleaned...I
was going to say "During WWII" but I don't think the building is
that old. The decoration is unique: Photos from the Hermitage
in Moscow alongside cartoon pigs' heads next to a "Parking for
Parking Only, All others will be Toad" sign. Get the drift? In
case you didn't, the final item: Three doors in a row: Women, Door
#2, Men
The food is BARBEQUE! Beef, pork & chicken. If you like barbeque:
this is THE place in King or Snohomish County to go. It SMELLS like
smoked barbeque. They do all of their cooking out back.
The potato salad and cole slaw are home made also. Great stuff.
It is a bit pricy all things considered.
They serve beer and wine in additional to soft drinks and lemonade.
This is the ONLY place we've been at in years that serves RC Cola
instead of Coke® or Pepsi®.
If you want a unique dining experience, try this place! They do
take credit cards, it is handicapped accessible. Better parking
at night than during the day. They're open for lunch and until
9 PM.

This place is actually in downtown(?) Mill Creek--about 10 miles
North of Bothell. I don't understand how this place stays in business.
It's huge--can probably seat 300+. We go by on a regular basis
and there are rarely 20 cars in the parking lot--which serves
an entire strip mall.
The staff generally doesn't seem to care if you want to eat or not
when you come in. They'll seat you when they get around to it even
if you are the only customers in the place. Service is, uh, slow.
The food, from the rice to the snow peas and water chestnuts--is
better at the local take-out stand. We rated it average because
they MUST do something right--they've been here for about 10
years. Maybe they have a killer bar business. They do take credit
cards. Don't know if there's smoking--there's never been any
smokers in the place when we were in there. Not handicapped accessible:
stairs inside and out.

to remodel much. This place appears to be more upscale than your
typical Denny's. It isn't.
The staff seem to think that they are working at a 4-star restaurant--without
ever having been in one. Of the several times we have been gues, er,
suckers here, the staff tends to be arrogant, slow and self-absorbed.
and we got better service than most. Different wait staff on each
visit, even.
The food is well prepared. Comes out cold though, because of the
wait staff. The management doesn't care--I've had conversations
with them.
If you're having something cold, though, and you aren't in a hurry--give
'em a shot.
They ARE better than average on their pies.
They take credit cards. They are handicapped accessible. Since
they are in the corner of the Canyon Park Plaza (QFC side--NOT
Albertson's side) there is lots of parking. Yep, open 24/7.

This is a surprisingly good Italian restaurant in the suburb
of Kenmore, WA. We noticed as we were going in that starting the
first of August 2000 they will only be open for Dinner 4-10 PM weekdays
and until 11 PM weekends.
Their sign outside states "Fine Italian Cusine". They aren't
kidding. We tried the Gnocchi as a full dinner (with soup and salad)
as well as the Veal Marsala ala Carte. The full dinner (additional
$3.50, with Caeser Salad and additional 55¢) includes warm bread
and the basic butter pats. The minestrone soup was small, but
good. Fair amount of veggies in it. A bit over the top with pepper,
but hey. The salad was iceberg without imagination or attention.
The dressing was good and seemed to be home made. The Gnocchi was
great! I got 2 bites, wife ate the rest.(sigh) The Veal was good.
The veggies and sauce were very good, the spaghetti may have come
from Safeway. The veal was a bit on the tough side. (Needed to ask
for a steak knife to cut it...not a good sign.) The restaurant,
overall, tries for the dark "authentic" Italian look. It seems
to have a number of rooms, each with about 30-50 seating capacity.
They promote catering, meetings, parties and the like. While
it is clean and nice, it would seem that they couldn't decide if
it was truly a "fine dining" establishment or a family cafe. Wife
commented that it must be a requirement for the waiters to have
a cute rear to work there.... I just noticed that everyone was
neatly dressed and in house uniform. She got great service, I
was the "also ran" (sigh).
Part of the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Both smoking
and non-smoking areas. They take all major credit cards. They
have a full lounge.
With luck you won't hit when Mambo Italiano is stuck on the background
system. We left when it was on its 5th playing in 20 minutes.
