This dining establishment tries to give the impression that it is gourmet cuisine with class, as are many of it's competitors along the wine trails of the Finger Lakes. I spent 1 1/2 hours at the restaurant and my experience included......waiting 10 minutes for any service at all after being seated, waiting 30 minutes after ordering for 2 fairly simple sandwiches to be brought to the table with no apology, listening at surrounding tables as we learned that their cash register was not accepting credit cards although they never informed any of the diners when they were seated, but only after people were finished eating and handed them their credit cards to pay. We heard many diners around us at this restaurant that serves $8-$10 sandwiches say that they would be taking money out of the tip given since the service was horrible and they were forced to pay cash. It seemed that the owners family members were running the place and waiting on tables and it was obvious that they were having tremendous trouble serving people within a reasonable timeframe. This was with about 6 tables filled in the vast surroundings. Still, a simply apology would have made up for the time wasted sitting in the restaurant....and telling people before they were seated and had eaten that they only took cash would have been the professional thing to do. With lunch for 2 coming in at $22, we left after eating and did not visit the winery since we had no desire to give the owner another cent after our dining experience. Sorry to say, it seems this establishemnt is trying to be like the beautiful classy dining establishments at other wineries and still has a lot to learn. The food?...it was good, but only good, at prices equal to much better food we have had at the other winery restaurants. ....Not a word of apology from the waitress or person that cashed us out. We were quite simply amazed. less

A Valentine dinner for 2 with sushi appetizer, hot saki, steak, shrimp, and scallop dinners, salad, soup, and tea along with a nice japanese fan as a souvenir at the end of the meal was $47. Truly an experience not to be missed. less

The meal started with a shrimp cocktail that left me wondering though. For the price of $7.95 the appetizer consisted of 5 small shrimp lost on a bed of lettuce, but with a wonderful combo of cocktail sauce and another sauce made with orange marmalade and horseradish. At $7.95 it got me wondering if dinner would be a disappointment. The dinners were very good. If you don't plan on spending around $50 to $60 for 2, don't come here, but if your plans include a nice upscale meal, take the trip. less

Although a bit pricey for a spur of the moment restaurant choice, the atmosphere and certain foods make it an experience to try. I happened to go on my company so the prices didn't bother me too much. A place to try for something special.

The food is good (except for the pancakes which taste fried), the prices are good and the service is fast. The place always seems to be busy but service is still good even when packed. less

Although the place is crawling with barflys on Friday and Saturday nights you can still get lucky and find a nice table out on the deck and have a nice evening watching the boats cruise in and out of the dock area. It almost seems as if the place should have a separation between the bar area and an area where people can enjoy eating on the deck without having to mix with the bar crowd, but who's to argue with the success they have here? The chicken wings are good and the prices are reasonable. less

The pizza is great and the dough is what makes it so good. As with every pizza place, there isn't a whole lot to say, it's either good or not good. Avicolli's is just plain good pizza at a good price. their wings aren't bad either.
