First of all, there is no flavor to anything. Everything tastes the same because it is some combination of browned beef (no seasonings), red sauce that tastes like pureed stewed tomatos, tortillas and jack cheese. My combo platter was to include "chili con queso", by deduction and a confused waiter we can only assume this meant "tostada shell with thin layer of melted jack". Queso? Yes. Chili? No. Chili con Queso? Not even close. To substitute beans instead of beef is an extra charge!? It makes me worry about there beef. No cumin, no paprika, no cheddar, no sour cream, bland salsa, bland food. I went back to a friend that recommended it and he said, "But it's cheap." How much is sanity worth these days? less

Everything is very good with the Crab Cakes Benedict (two crab cakes topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce) being a personal favorite. The waffles, gingerbread pancakes, and monte christo are all very good. They also have a dish that is cinnamon apples and raisens stuffed into a croissant and topped with whipped cream and nuts that is worth a try. What more, every side dish is great: mini potato cakes, sweet potato fries, cheese grits and steamed veggies are all good. The only thing I probably won't have again are the sausage links, but that's mostly personal preference. The service has always been outstanding. less

You have to walk through the bar area to get to the sitting area and the smoke permeates the place. If you make it past that, the food is pretty good. I'm used to tex-mex, so the differences stand out and this seems almost California-Mexican: blue corn, mushrooms, seafood. That's not a bad thing as long as you know what you are in for. Good service and salsa and a world better than El Charro. I missed it the first time I went looking. It's in the corner of the Barnes & Noble strip mall for you first-timers. less

The ribs were extremely tender and just the right amount of spicy. The Portobello Steak is a must-try for mushroom lovers! Everything was great from the atmosphere to the service.

I know that it's not out-rageous, but it's not cheap either. I also made the mistake of wanting water...it came out in what was little more than a shot-glass. I would have been willing to pay a little more and get three or even swallows worth. Don't bother waiting for the bill, takes too long. the crepes were good but not worth the hassle. less

With an entre, you get to sample 8 (maybe 10) different salsas like Apple Curry, Santa Fe, Artichoke Heart, Roasted Garlic, and Mango. They are all good, but I grew quite fond of the Mango and a half-half mixture of the Santa Fe & Roasted Garlic. The chips are a bit salty, but if you pile on the great salsas, you'll barely notice. less
