Rosedale's is a sweet taste with a bite. The sandwiches are made
with white bread or bun, and they don't skimp on the meat.
Everything I have tried was good. I have been there many times.
BUT, if you are looking for atmosphere ... forget it. If you are
thinking of low lighting, waitresses at your beck and call, and
all the trimmings, forget it! You wait in line and order at the
counter, and everything is in a "to go" container. From there,
you can take it to a table, or take it home.
If you are looking for good BBQ, and don't care about the
lack of atmosphere, give Rosedale's a try. And, if you like
peppers, try one of their poppers.
Oh, and be prepared for standing in line, if you go on a day the
Chiefs play, or on a weekend evening. Enjoy!

As far as taste, Johnny's is OK. I think they changed their
sauce from the first time I was there. That visit was less than
desirable. BUT, lately, it has been pretty good. A good sauce,
with a good bite. And, you get pretty good helpings, too. And,
Johnny's is in Mission, KS, just off of Metcalf. Not that easy
to find, but possible. If you happen to be in the area, give
them a try. Not "great" BBQ, but not bad. I think you will leave
the place happy.

After reading this, you will know that Arthur Bryant's is my
favorite BBQ. There is just something about the sauce. Oh, the
original only, please (I don't like the other sauce as much).
It has a gritty texture to it, that I love. I use it for dipping
my fries into, instead of catsup. Sure, it is different, and
you will probably either love it or hate it. The atmosphere is
poor, but I don't go for that. I go for the food. And, if you
don't like the atmosphere, or area, get it to go. But, I think
the people that work there are nice and friendly, and the food
is great. I usually get beef, fries, and beans. But, I don't
think there is anything that is bad. Be sure to get the beans.
And, plan on waiting in line. That isn't because the service is
slow, it is because the place is popular. And, check out the
pictures on the wall, while you wait. Presidents and celebrities
have come from all over, for this food. Nuf said.
Oh, and a little tip. If you get a sandwich and fries, get it to
go. Even if you stay there to eat it. You get more, if you do
this. You see, when you get it to eat there, it has to fit on a
plate. If you get it to go, they roll it up in butcher paper.
And, on the way home, stop off at the market and get a loaf of
bread. Great stuff!!

Now, I talk about taste, not anything else. If you are looking
for anything else, in a BBQ review, you aren't a true BBQ lover.
But, Zarda's isn't bad in the atmosphere area.
I like the sauce as a bit of a sweet and tangy style. Like my
other favorites, I dip my fries in the sauce, instead of catsup.
The big sandwiches on a bun are good, and they always give you a
dill pickle, which I think is cool. I eat the pickle for desert.
The beans are good, and I prefer the wedge cut fries.
All in all, one of the better KC BBQ places, in my opinion.
