People either love or hate this diner. I happen to hate it. I go
there, under protest, usually with an old aunt, who remembers,
when this place used to be good. The tables, in the small dining
area are cramped so close together that the average person can
not sit back to back with another diner without their chair-backs
touching.
A friend ordered a hamburger (not the deluxe) It came on a small
platter, no garnish, just a burger. You'd think they'd put a parsley
leaf or a mound of that recycled coleslaw, or ... at least, a pickle
on the plate!!!!!! The presentation was horrible.
I think that they get most of their business from locals without
cars, and from the high school kids and food shoppers (there's
a Waldbaums in the shopping center.)
It is not a very good diner compared with the Palace. Try that one
... a half a mile away. At least, Palace has a salad bar and roomy
table seating.

If you don't have dining preferences or requests but, order straight
from the menu, then you will get an average meal, for an average
price, with average service. But, if you request a plate of pickles
prior to your burger arriving, you most likely, will be given
an abrupt answer of "Not now, you will get it with your meal". Don't
bother trying to make a point because most of the waitresses don't
speak English too well. This is why it is better to order directly
from the menu with NO CHANGES rather than beat your head against
the wall trying to explain why you don't want lemon in yor diet
soda. So, if you are a regular kind of person, looking for a simple
burger platter this is a good place for you.(Forget asking for
those fries well done and drained well .. unless you are looking
for a dropped jaw and a "Uh?" as a reply.)) Chow up, folks!!!!!!!!

It took me a long time to visit this restaurant, located on a not
so scenic area of Northern Blvd. The way I figured it, if I wanted
good seafood, I'd go to City Island -- why chance it here. Except
for a lousy view out the windows, this place (inside)is as good
as any 'harbor' restaurant. The menu has a large variety, the
food is fresh and presented nicely. The service is also excellent
and the ambience is 'Cape Cod' cozy. It's a good choice when traveling
time is limited and either the South or North Shore seafood restaurants
are just too far away.

I fell into this place, by accident, while up by the court house
area. I found it a good place to go for 'table' discussions, work
meetings, or family discussions, as the 'tablecloth' is drawing
paper which allows for doodling while dining!!! I observred
lawyers listed settlement options on the tablecloth and children
drawing pictures which kept them busy. The pasta is served in
a large bowl and is actually quite good for a better than average
type of lunch. There's no atmosphere -- how could there be with
people drawing on the tables. But, it serves its purpose.
