I had Paillard of chicken with mushroom sauce served with very
smooth mashed potatoes and green beans. Apricot and almond tart
for desert freshly made and a good sized portion.. There is a small
wine list reasonably priced.

The best restaurant in Rio Rancho! I know anyone familiar with
the area is thinking "that's not saying much!" Hold on though,
it's the best restaurant in Rio Rancho, and even more, it's the
best Italian food in the state! The food is spectacular, the service
is ALWAYS outstanding, and the atmosphere is worth going out
of your way. Personally, just as a suggestion when there, start
with a bottle of the Luna di Luna Merlot/Cabernet (60-40), I understand
it is exclusive to Pasta Cafe, & the Fried Ravioli appetizer,
it's served covered in a magnificent, Marsala cream sauce, created
by one of the immpeccable chefs. Salads? Tough decision, there
dressings are all home-made and wonderful, just make sure you
leave plenty of room for dessert! As far as the meals go... You
can't go wrong with anything available from their extensive
menu. (if on the off chance nothing quite catches your eye, ask
your server for a suggestion, or Owner Joe, who's frequently
there, they are always more than happy to find something not on
the menu, or more in line with your tastes.) I will however say,
i've loved everything i've ever tried there, but my favorite
has got to be the Shrimp Francese, THE BEST! Now the sinful part,
Real, fresh made, (usually by the owner's father) honest-to-god,
Cannoli. It's very rich, and i'm sure has 9 gazilion calories,
but who cares!?! One Cannoli, Would be worth a month on the treadmill!
By now you'll be stuffed full of the best meal you've had in a LONG
time, and with the deserving tip, can leave for probably, $70-$80.
(2 people with wine, appetizer, and dessert.) which is well worth
it, the only trouble will be leaving itself, trust me you wont
want to, & the staff would never let you know if you were keeping
them. It is sincerely the best dining in New Mexico, you just might
not find better this side of Italy!

remains of the original structure (besides the veggies on the

ventilators on the roof. The rest is natural stone, rich wood
and warm colors, plus a big fireplace and a luscious exehibition
kitchen." More about the food to follow...

When we arived four girls were in the service station area, and
a guy was running around waiting on everyone. He sat us and got
our drinks right away. Took our order and was getting refills
right when we needed him. As we were sitting there I noticed one
of the four girls that never left the wait station eating whip
cream on a straw and licking it off and putting new whip cream on
the same straw. Good thing I didn't getting anything with whip
cream. Our meals arrived and my food was ice cold. I didn't want
to mess with it so I took it home. I ate it when I got home and it was
once again I'll say, worst than frozen microwaved food. I will
not be returning there for dinner or anything with whip cream.

Ranch Wagon is a great place to eat if you are in the mood for foot
long hot dogs or barbeques. They still have old fashioned carhop
service, which the kids will think is a lot of fun. They'll take
your order and bring your food to you on a tray which hooks in your
window. Or you could always go up to the window and order it yourself,
but that's no fun!! The foot longs are excellent - try them with
everything! The fries tend to get cold quickly. Keep that in mind
if you are taking your order home. If you are eating there around
dinner or later in the summer months, I suggest calling your order
in ahead. The same if you are in a hurry, because they aren't the
quickest place to eat.

Excellent food! I haven't tasted a dish I didn't like. Try the
chichen wings during Sunday afternoon football party, some
of the best I've had.
