| Cafe Akimbo | San Francisco, CA | |
|
What a great little place. We had a party of 8 for lunch and everyone
was pleased. As the other reviewers said, the Akimbo rolls were
very good, and I'm not usually a fan of pate. The souffle is to die
for and so are the short ribs in port wine sauce. Service was also
excellent.

| E&O Trading Company | San Francisco, CA | |
|
This is a great place for a group of friends to go together. We always
order a bunch of the small plates to share and we each get an entree.
My favorite things are the corn fritters and the sweet potato
naan. The homemade ginger ale has some serious kick to it for you
ginger lovers. The desserts are all quite delicious. My only
complaint is that the service is sometimes a little slow, but
usually it's okay.

| Fujiya Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Great place for group dinners if you eat at the cooktop tables.
Like Benihana without the chain store feel. Some of the chefs
are showy, some are not, but the food always comes out great. Lots
of fun in a somewhat subdued atmosphere.

| Claim Jumper | Concord, CA | |
|
This is a family style restaurant with an old west
feel. Portions are huge! We usually split a meal and
still have more than enough. The "Specialties" BBQ
Ribs, Steak, Prime Rib, Fresh Fish, etc.) run $12-$22, but
most other entrees (salads, sandwiches, pastas,
chicken, pizzas, meatloaf, etc.) run $6-$10. Desserts
are $4-$7. Also a large bar with TV screen showing
sports. A list of mixed drinks as long as the dinner
menu, and a bar menu with pizzas, potato skins, buffalo
wings, quesadillas, ribs, etc.
Great place for a very tasty meal with or without the
kids at a reasonable price. Service is very friendly
and usually pretty quick.
The drawback is that they don't take reservations and
the wait can get very long (up to 2 hours) on a weekend
evening. Go during off hours or put your name on the
list and go shopping in the adjacent Willows center.

| Crocodile Cafe Restaurant | Seattle, WA | |
|
Atmosphere is dark and dirty and very smokey. Service is
slow and sloppy. Food is overpriced, undercooked or
overcooked, cold and generally bad. The only thing I enjoyed
about my visit was the entertainment. Even good
entertainment won't get me to go back again.

| Prima | Walnut Creek, CA | |
|
I returned to Prima for dinner last week after not having eaten
there for about a year. My only complaint is that it's not closer
to my home. The service is always friendly and the food is
consistently outstanding. My favorite part about the room redux
is that the grand piano gives the fine musicians an opportunity
to shine. Go on Thursday when Simon Russell is at the piano. Jazz
and Blues beyond compare.

| Gims Chinese Kitchen | Alameda, CA | |
|
Best Chinese take-out/delivery in Alameda, and believe me, I've
tried them all. The delivery people are almost always on time, if
not 5-10 minutes early. The food is always hot when it arrives
and the Ginger Beef will clear your sinuses. The average entree
price is really just under $5, but when you consider that most
people order more than one item per person it comes out around
$9-$10 per head, plus rice, drinks, etc. Note to the first two
reviewers: If you're looking for GREAT Chinese food, spend a
little extra and go to a sit-down restaurant.

| Caribbean Zone | San Francisco, CA | |
|
My friend and I went there for lunch today and to research
the location for a business dinner party. The food was
terrific. I had the Jerk Chicken (pretty kicky) and my
friend had the Crab Melt. We finished with the Chunky
Monkey dessert. The presentation of the dessert was really
cool. I agree that the service was friendly, but a bit
slow. We're going back next week for that large business
party starting with cocktails in the airplane and they
promise we'll have faster service. If there's anything
exceptional about it I'll submit another review.
